Every Pokémon you discover in Pokémon Pokopia has its own Comfort Level, which indicates how comfortable each creature is and how happy it is to live with you. Pokémon naturally start out with a low Comfort Level, but you can gradually improve it by performing several actions. If you have just started playing and are unsure what to do, this entry in our guide explains all the methods you can use to increase your Pokémon's Comfort Levels, which will also help raise the Environment Quality of each region.
There are several main methods you can use to improve a Pokémon's Comfort Level. Before doing anything else, remember that you can always talk to a Pokémon and ask about its current comfort by selecting the dialogue option "How's your Comfort Level?". The Pokémon will then give you a hint about what you can do to improve it further.
There are at least four general ways to increase Pokémon comfort in Pokopia:
Whenever you perform an action that increases a Pokémon's comfort, you will see a heart-shaped icon appear above it. This indicates that your action has made the Pokémon happy and improved its Comfort Level.
Regarding the methods mentioned above, bear in mind that habitats cover a limited area and will often overlap with nearby habitats. This means you cannot raise a Pokémon's Comfort Level very far while its home is simply the habitat where it originally appeared. When you are close to a habitat, press the right stick to see the area it covers:
For this reason, the most important thing you can do to maximize a Pokémon's comfort is to build it a house. Houses can be quite large, allowing you to place many more decorations and items that the Pokémon likes without interfering with other habitats or accidentally affecting the comfort of other Pokémon.
But how can you find out in advance what each type of Pokémon likes? Simply open its Pokédex entry and look under "Specialty and Preferences":
This screen lets you check each Pokémon's preferences, giving you an idea of its favorite things. Certain species like some items more than others, and vice versa. Geodude, for example, likes hard things, items made of stone, and training equipment such as punching bags.
You should therefore try to place each Pokémon's favorite items and furniture in its habitat or house to increase its Comfort Level more effectively. You should also give it gifts and foods it enjoys from time to time.
Don't forget to check its preferred "Ideal Environment" either. If it prefers dark environments, for example, that Pokémon will feel more comfortable in places without lights. If it prefers humid environments, it will want to avoid dry areas, and so on. All these factors affect its Comfort Level and can help you improve it more quickly.
As mentioned above, the Comfort Levels of the Pokémon living in a biome directly affect the Environment Quality of each area in the world. For this reason, it is useful to know the Comfort Levels of all your neighbors.
To check your Pokémon's Comfort Levels, visit the PC terminal beside the Pokémon Center in each area. After opening the terminal, press the "-" Button from its main options menu to view the Environment Quality details:
On this screen, you will see an information panel like the one shown in the image above. It lists all the Pokémon living in the area alongside their Comfort Levels, which can fall into several different categories, such as Good, Fair, Great, or Fantastic.
The highest Comfort Level a Pokémon can reach is Perfect, so you should work toward achieving it with every Pokémon. Doing so will raise the area's Environment Quality and allow you to unlock more shop items and daily challenges.
