Phione, the Mythical Pokémon, is one of the most special creatures available to players in Pokémon Pokopia as part of the Pokédex introduced in DLC 1: Bubbly Basin. However, the method for registering Phione is different from that of the other Pokémon in the expansion. That's why we've prepared this entry of our guide to explain how to obtain it in your game and show you its key details.
The first thing you need to know is that you must purchase the paid Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass to register Phione in the Pokédex. This is because Phione is exclusive to the Bubbly Basin Pokédex introduced in DLC 1. Therefore, this Pokémon cannot be obtained in the base game.
That said, the method for finding Phione doesn't involve creating a suitable habitat. Instead, to invite it to live in Bubbly Basin, you'll need to search for it on the Basin Dream Island, which you can visit after obtaining the Starmie Doll.

Once you have the Starmie Doll, you can place it anywhere and interact with it to travel to the Basin Dream Island with Drifloon's help. On this special island, which is exclusive to DLC 1, there is a chance of encountering Phione.
However, Phione isn't guaranteed to appear every time you visit this type of island. Its appearance is random. Since the island changes each day, you'll need to visit it on different days until Phione eventually appears. There's no way to know when it will show up, so you'll need to be patient.
More specifically, Phione can be found hidden inside the underwater cave beneath the mountain at the center of the island. After diving into the cave, look for tunnels leading deeper underground or walls made from suspicious-looking blocks that can be broken, like those shown in the screenshot above.
When Phione appears on the island, it will be inside a small chamber surrounded by blocks that are a different color from the rest of the cave walls, as shown in the following image:
Break these blocks so you can talk to Phione. After meeting it, it will be automatically registered in your Pokédex and will follow you when you return to Bubbly Basin, allowing you to invite it to move into any habitat or house to make it more comfortable.
To reiterate, this is the only method for obtaining Phione. Remember that the contents of the Basin Dream Island change every day. If you visit the island and Phione isn't there, you'll need to wait until the following day before trying again. Keep repeating this process until you find it. However, if you don't want to wait in real time, you can use the trick of moving your console's clock forward to speed up the process. This can save you plenty of frustration if you want to obtain Phione as quickly as possible.
