Kyogre is one of the Legendary Pokémon that appear in Pokémon Pokopia and can be registered in the Pokédex of this Nintendo Switch 2 game. Since it is one of the most special creatures in the game, we've prepared this entry of our guide to explain how to get it and show you its general details.
Although Kyogre is a Legendary Pokémon, obtaining it in Pokémon Pokopia isn't particularly difficult or time-consuming. All you need to do is complete the Important Request "Yawn Up a Storm!", which takes place during the opening hours of the game in Withered Wasteland.
In other words, your encounter with Kyogre is guaranteed and tied to the main story. If you haven't completed this mission yet, or aren't sure what to do during any of its steps, you can check the related entry in our guide.
During the final part of this mission, after getting Slowpoke to perform a 100-point yawn, Kyogre will appear on a beach in Withered Wasteland. This beach has a broken pier and is located near the mysterious tower. Repair the pier's wooden walkway so you can approach Kyogre and talk to it. Once you've met it, it will be automatically registered in your Pokédex.
Outside this particular encounter, however, it's worth pointing out that Kyogre cannot be invited to live in a house like most other Pokémon in the game. You'll only encounter it at this point in the adventure, although it may later appear at random again in ocean areas. For example, Kyogre paid us another visit in Bleak Beach later in our game.
In any case, bear in mind that you can only talk to Kyogre. As far as we know, it cannot move into a building, and you don't need to worry about raising its Comfy Level or anything similar. Simply meeting it for the first time during the story is enough for it to count as registered in the Pokédex.
