In addition to the main areas you visit during the story of Pokémon Pokopia, the game also lets you travel to special locations known as Dream Islands each day. These islands contain different materials to gather and are connected to Drifloon, as it is the only Pokémon in the entire Pokédex capable of taking you there.
Not sure how this feature works? In this entry of our guide, we'll explain how to unlock Drifloon, how to get dolls that let you visit Dream Islands, what types of islands are available, and which resources can be found on each one so you can make the most of every trip.
To travel to Dream Islands and unlock these special trips, the first thing you need to do is register Drifloon in your Pokédex. This is the only Pokémon in the game with the specialty called Dream Island, which allows you to travel to these islands.
Fortunately, Drifloon can be found fairly early in the adventure, in the Withered Wasteland. You only need to have unlocked Ditto's Rock Smash move by befriending Hitmonchan after creating the Training Area habitat. Once you have this move, head left from the Wasteland Pokémon Center, toward the west, and smash through a wall made up of several wall blocks. This will give you access to a seaside section of the wasteland where you can find Drifloon looking out over the water.
Talk to Drifloon to receive the "Help make a home for Drifloon!" request. You'll need to create a habitat where it can settle down and live. This habitat is called Riding warm updrafts.
Finally, after doing all of the above, return to Drifloon and show it its new home. It will now give you another request called "Find a doll!" Drifloon will ask you to come back and talk to it once you have any doll in your inventory. From that point onward, you'll be able to travel to Dream Islands. But how do you get these dolls? We'll explain below.
The dolls used to visit Dream Islands with Drifloon can be obtained in a couple of different ways.
There are seven different dolls to collect in total:
You only need to obtain one of each doll for the first time to visit the different islands. There is no need to own more than one of each type.
Once you have some dolls, you can select them from your inventory or place them somewhere and interact with them to call Drifloon. Drifloon does not even need to be nearby or in the same biome to answer your call. It will always come when you use a doll, and the doll you choose will determine which island it can take you to.
Pokémon Pokopia features six main types of Dream Islands, determined by the doll you use to call Drifloon. Each of these "deserted" islands always contains a set of specific materials.

Keep in mind that you can also find other useful items on any of these islands. For example, Dream Islands are the only place in the game where you can obtain Stardust. Sparkling spots can also appear randomly on the ground and may contain Lost Relics.
Don't forget that you can only visit one type of Dream Island per real-world day using one of the dolls. However, you can make as many return trips to that same island as you like during the day. When the day ends, at 4:59 a.m., the island will be "wiped," so make sure you don't leave anything valuable behind or it will be lost forever.
Although there are no wild Pokémon on Dream Islands, remember that you may encounter certain Legendary Pokémon there. You can befriend them and invite them to live with you: Raikou when using the Pikachu doll, Entei when using the Arcanine doll, Suicune when using the Eevee doll, and Mewtwo when using the Dragonite doll. All of them can appear inside an underground cave at the center of their respective islands, although their appearance is not guaranteed. You'll therefore need to make numerous trips on different days if you want to find them.
