Do the... Team Initiation Challenge? is the name of one of the main story's Important Requests in Pokémon Pokopia. It's connected to the Withered Wasteland, as it begins in this biome when you interact with the mysterious tower on the beach. However, the mission actually spans every area in the game, as you'll be asked to hand over a series of materials that can be found in different regions.
In this entry of our guide, we'll explain how to complete the different requirements and stages of this mission so you won't have any trouble delivering all the resources needed for the challenge. The first task of the challenge is incredibly simple: you only need to hand over five Leppa Berries.
As you probably already know, these berries grow abundantly on trees. If a tree is withered, water it with Water Gun to make it bloom immediately. Then use Headbutt to knock the berries to the ground. It's as simple as that.
After handing over the berries, you'll receive the Bouldery Badge as a reward.
The second task of the challenge involves several vegetables, as you'll be asked to hand over the following ingredients:
All these vegetables can be obtained, for example, by growing their corresponding seeds. Some of these seeds can be purchased directly from the PC Shop once you've raised an area's Environment Level high enough, while they may also be obtained at random as gifts from Pokémon. Alternatively, you can find crops already growing in different parts of the world and harvest them.
For example, you can find a few Beans growing in fertile soil on top of a mountain west of the Pokémon Center in the Withered Wasteland. The same applies to Tomatoes, which can be found not far from the Pokémon Center at Bleak Beach. Finally, you'll find a small Wheat field near the Pokémon Center in Rocky Ridges.
After handing over all the vegetables at the tower, you'll receive the Cascade-like Badge as a reward.
The third task of the challenge involves finding flammable materials, as you'll need to hand over the following:
Remember that if you don't have any Lumber available, you can give Small Logs to a Pokémon with the Chop specialty, such as Scyther, and have it process them for you. Fluff, meanwhile, can be obtained from certain Pokémon with the Litter specialty, including Mareep, Flaaffy, and Jumpluff, as they periodically drop it around their habitats for you to collect.
Finally, Paper cannot be obtained until you reach the Sparkling Skylands biome. You'll find plenty of Wastepaper scattered across this area or inside garbage blocks. This resource can then be given to Pokémon with the Recycle specialty, such as Metang, Porygon, or Magnezone, to turn it into Paper.
After handing over all the flammable materials on the list, you'll receive the Thunderish Badge as a reward.
The fourth task of the challenge involves handing over construction materials, including the following:
You should already know this, but here's a quick reminder: these materials can be obtained through processing. For example, if you give Squishy Clay to a Pokémon with the Burn specialty, such as Torchic, Charmander, or Growlithe, it can turn the clay into Bricks. Squishy Clay is plentiful in blocks around Bleak Beach, and Pokémon such as Wooper and Clodsire may also drop it around their habitats.
Gold Ore deposits, meanwhile, can be broken with Rock Smash. They're fairly rare, but you can find them in the mines and caves of Rocky Ridges. You can then place the Gold Ore in a Smelting Furnace and have a Pokémon with the Burn specialty turn it into Gold Ingots.
Finally, Concrete can be obtained in Sparkling Skylands, where you can use a Concrete Mixer placed beside the water. Add Limestone to the machine and assign any Pokémon with the Crush specialty, such as Onix, Conkeldurr, or Geodude, to turn it into Concrete after a while.
After handing over all the construction materials, you'll receive the Rainbowish Badge as a reward.
The fifth task of the challenge involves storing electricity, as you'll need to provide the following resources:
This is probably one of the most time-consuming tasks in the challenge if you haven't already built any electrical networks in the Withered Wasteland. First of all, remember that Crystal Fragments can be found in the caves and mines of Rocky Ridges. They're the particularly striking blue crystals. Tinkagears, meanwhile, can be obtained by giving Iron Ingots to Tinkmaster, who will process them and turn them into this resource.
Now let's talk about how to supply the 50 units of electricity required for the task. You'll need to place Utility Poles beside the mysterious tower and connect them to power sources capable of generating electricity so that the power reaches the tower.
As you should know by this stage of the game, electricity can be produced using structures such as Windmills, Waterwheels, and Furnaces, among others. You can purchase kits from the PC Shop using Life Coins and then have Pokémon build these generators in the Withered Wasteland.
Building a Furnace, switching it on, and connecting it to the tower provides 30 units of electricity toward the objective. If you want to complete the task quickly and easily without making things too complicated, you can simply build two Furnaces right beside the tower. Otherwise, take your time and make progress on the task gradually.
After supplying the tower with enough electricity and handing over the other resources, you'll receive the Soul-like Badge as a reward.
The sixth task of the challenge involves stylish furniture, as you'll be asked to hand over the following objects:
All these objects can be found around the world, but you can also unlock their crafting recipes fairly easily by finding certain golden Poké Balls in the following locations:
Once you have four of each piece of furniture, hand them over at the tower to receive the Marshy Badge as a reward.
The seventh task of the challenge involves essential everyday items, as you'll be asked to hand over the following objects:
Each of these three items can be obtained as a reward for completing the missions that require you to raise an area's Environment Level to 5 in Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, and Sparkling Skylands. Raising these Environment Levels will also eventually unlock the crafting recipes in the PC Shops, allowing you to purchase them using Life Coins.
You shouldn't have too much trouble obtaining these items. Crafting them requires Pokémetal, however, so it's a good idea to save any you receive during missions for this particular task.
After handing over all the required objects at the tower, you'll receive the Volcanoey Badge as a reward.
The eighth task of the challenge involves a cherished photo. All you need to hand over is a photograph you've taken with your camera at some point during the game.
It doesn't have to be anything special. Any type of photo will do, so this is a very simple task. If you haven't taken any pictures yet, press the "-" button on your controller and photograph anything you like. Then interact with the tower's panel, select the picture, and submit it.
After handing over the photo at the tower, you'll receive the Earth Badge, which is also the final badge.
The ninth and final task of the challenge involves Party Poppers, as you'll be asked to hand over two of them.
When you raise the Withered Wasteland's Environment Level to 5 by completing the "A Higher Quality Environment!" Important Request, you'll receive two Party Poppers as a reward. If you still have them, you can use them to complete the task immediately.
If you no longer have the Party Poppers, you can also purchase their crafting instructions from the PC Shop. The recipe requires Paper x1 and Vine Rope x1.
Once you have both Party Poppers and hand them over, you'll receive the mission's final reward: a special photo frame. You'll also see a cutscene that serves as the finale of the game's main story, followed by the development team's credits. After the sequence, don't forget to meet Magnemite and complete its Request to unlock Ditto's final transformation, Magnet Rise, which is incredibly useful.
