Mewtwo is one of the Legendary Pokémon featured in Pokémon Pokopia, and it can be registered in the Pokédex in this Switch 2 game. Since it's one of the most special creatures in the game, we've put together this entry in our guide to explain how to get it and show you its basic details.
Although Mewtwo is a Legendary Pokémon, getting it in Pokémon Pokopia isn't particularly complicated. All you need to do is complete the Important Request "Rebuild the Huge Building!", a main mission that takes place during the adventure in the Sparkling Skylands, shortly after meeting Tinkmaster.

In other words, the encounter with Mewtwo is guaranteed and tied to your progress through the main story. If you haven't completed this mission yet or aren't sure what to do to finish each of its steps, check out the related entry in our guide.
During the final part of the mission, after rebuilding the third floor of the Skyland Building, Mewtwo will appear on the building's rooftop. You can take the lift up to meet it, and Mewtwo will be automatically registered in your Pokédex during the conversation.

Besides the initial encounter mentioned above, it's worth pointing out that Mewtwo can also be invited to live in a home, just like most other Pokémon in the game. You won't be able to do this when you first meet it on the skyscraper's rooftop, but you can after completing this story mission. Here's what you need to know:

We recommend making plenty of trips to the Dragonite Doll's Dream Island each day and thoroughly exploring the cave in the center of the island. Look for terrain blocks that resemble walls or stand out because they look different from the rest. Break them with Rock Smash and try to find a secret room where Mewtwo might be hiding, like the one shown in the screenshot above.
If you're lucky enough to find Mewtwo on the Dream Island, speak to it and invite it to come along with you. While it's following you, head back to Drifloon to leave the island, and Mewtwo will come with you. You can then have it move into any habitat or home you like so it can live alongside your other Pokémon.
