Pokémon Pokopia: How to Get Amped and Low Key Toxtricity

Learn how to find the materials and items needed to create the special habitats for Amped Form and Low Key Form Toxtricity in Pokémon Pokopia.

Although there are plenty of Pokémon to obtain in the Pokédex of Pokémon Pokopia, Toxtricity is undoubtedly one of the most unusual species in the entire game. Not only does it have two different forms, but figuring out how to create their habitats—or how to obtain the materials needed to build them—can be quite difficult on your own. To clear up any doubts, we've prepared this entry of our guide, where we'll explain everything you need to know.

How to Create the Habitats for Amped Form and Low Key Form Toxtricity

To find Toxtricity Amped Form or Low Key Form in Pokémon Pokopia, you need to create their two respective habitats. These are slightly different from one another, although they share several requirements. These are the two habitats and the materials they require:

Amped Rock Stage habitat (Toxtricity Amped Form)

  • Speaker x2
  • Small Stage x1
  • Cool Electric Guitar x1
  • Standing Mic x1

Low-key Rock Stage habitat (Toxtricity Low Key Form)

  • Speaker x2
  • Small Stage x1
  • Cool Bass Guitar x1
  • Standing Mic x1

Both habitats can be created in any area of the game, and each form of Toxtricity can appear in its respective habitat at any time of day and in any weather conditions.

Bear in mind that the Small Stage requires electricity before it can be switched on. You can use a Pokémon with the Generate specialty to power it, or connect it to generators that produce electricity. If the stage isn't powered on, the habitat won't be unlocked.

As for the Standing Mic and Speakers, you can easily find these kinds of objects inside the recording studio in the museum building located in Rocky Ridges, in the northern part of the map. That said, you probably won't have much trouble collecting everything listed above. The guitar and bass, however, may be another story...

How to Get the Cool Electric Guitar and Cool Bass Guitar

The hardest part of creating Toxtricity's two habitats will almost certainly be obtaining the Cool Electric Guitar and Cool Bass Guitar. Both objects can be crafted at a Workbench, but only after you first obtain Strange Strings, as their recipes require the following resources:

  • Strange Strings x1
  • Lumber x1
  • Pokémetal x1

Strange Strings are an extremely rare material that can be found at random by breaking glowing terrain blocks. We really do mean extremely rare. In our experience, it took us an incredibly long time to find our first set—we had already completed the story and nearly finished the entire Pokédex by the time it finally appeared.

You can try to "force" them to appear by giving bitter-flavored food offerings to Mosslax, as this increases the chance of rare items appearing inside glowing blocks. You can also use the trick of moving your console's clock forward to advance to the next day and make new glowing blocks appear in each area.

You can also use the Dowsing Machine alongside a Pokémon with the Search specialty to look for buried treasure. Alternatively, you can trade Lost Relics or Legendary Feathers with Gimmighoul or Gholdengo in exchange for rare items. One of these rewards may be Strange Strings, although it seems you need to hand over a huge number of items to obtain them this way.

Bear in mind that there are no other ways to obtain Strange Strings, so you'll need to be patient and rely on luck. As a last resort, you could always visit another player's island where a Cool Electric Guitar or Cool Bass Guitar has already been placed, take a picture of it with the camera, and then use the 3D Printer in your own world to create a direct copy of the object without having to craft it yourself.

Pokémon Pokopia - How to find and register both forms of Toxtricity

Either way, the first time you obtain Strange Strings, you'll unlock the crafting recipes for both the guitar and bass. Once you have these and the other objects listed above, set up the habitats and both forms of Toxtricity should appear before long, allowing you to register them in the Pokédex.
