Lugia and Ho-Oh are two of the Legendary Pokémon featured in Pokémon Pokopia, and both can be registered in the Pokédex in this Switch 2 game. Since they're two of the most special creatures in the game, we've put together this entry in our guide to explain how to get them and show you their basic details.

How to find and register Lugia

Lugia can appear at random at any point during the game, briefly flying through the skies above any area for a few seconds, regardless of the time of day or weather conditions. However, you won't be able to speak to this Pokémon or register it unless you first meet the following requirement: you need to register the Legendary bird trio Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in your Pokédex.

Check out the related entry in our guide to learn how to get Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Once you've unlocked all three, you'll receive the recipe for crafting an item called the Tidal Bell, which requires Rare Pokémetal x5 and Silver Feather x5 (the same feathers Lugia drops as it flies overhead).

Pokémon Pokopia - How to get and craft the Tidal Bell to call Lugia

You need to have the Tidal Bell in your inventory to call Lugia with it. When you see it flying overhead, quickly place the bell on the ground and interact with the item to ring it. The sound of the bell will make Lugia come down to the ground, allowing you to befriend it and successfully register it.

Pokémon Pokopia - How to register Lugia in the Pokédex using the Tidal Bell

This is the only way to befriend Lugia, but remember that you first need to meet Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. Bear in mind that Lugia also can't be invited to live in a home or habitat. You can only speak to it by using the Tidal Bell, and that's all.

How to find and register Ho-Oh

Like Lugia, Ho-Oh can appear at random at any point during the game, briefly flying through the skies above any area for a few seconds, regardless of the time of day or weather conditions. However, you won't be able to speak to this Pokémon or register it unless you first meet the following requirement: you need to register the Legendary beast trio Raikou, Entei, and Suicune in your Pokédex.

Check out the related entry in our guide to learn how to get Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. Once you've unlocked all three, you'll receive the recipe for crafting an item called the Clear Bell, which requires Rare Pokémetal x5 and Rainbow Feather x5 (the same feathers Ho-Oh drops as it flies overhead).

Pokémon Pokopia - How to get and craft the Clear Bell to call Ho-Oh

You need to have the Clear Bell in your inventory to call Ho-Oh with it. Just as with Lugia, when you see Ho-Oh flying overhead, quickly place its bell on the ground and interact with the item to ring it. The sound of the bell will make Ho-Oh come down to the ground, allowing you to befriend it and successfully register it.

Pokémon Pokopia - How to register Ho-Oh in the Pokédex using the Clear Bell

This is the only way to befriend Ho-Oh, but remember that you first need to meet Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. Bear in mind that Ho-Oh also can't be invited to live in a home or habitat. You can only speak to it by using the Clear Bell, and that's all.
