One of the habitats that is both rare and particularly special among those exclusive to DLC 1: Bubbly Basin for Pokémon Pokopia is the expansion's final habitat—No. 36—known as Mermaid's Gym. This is the only habitat where Starmie can appear. What makes it so unusual, however, is that creating it requires you to obtain several Decorative Poké Balls, among other items. In this entry of our guide, we'll show you all the details and steps you need to follow to obtain these objects in your game.
To create the Mermaid's Gym habitat, you need to obtain the following six Decorative Poké Balls:
All of these Decorative Poké Balls can be obtained at specific locations throughout Bubbly Basin, as they are hidden in fixed places as part of the environment. These locations are marked on the Treasure Maps you can collect in this area, although you don't actually need to obtain the maps before searching for the Decorative Poké Balls.
Our related guide entry shows you the exact locations of every Decorative Poké Ball and its corresponding map. However, to save you some time, we've also included each location below. Simply head to the same places in your game to collect them.
After obtaining all the Decorative Poké Balls listed above, you'll be ready to create the Mermaid's Gym habitat—or almost. You'll also need six Pedestals or Exhibition Stands on which to place the Poké Balls, along with one Marine Sofa.
Pedestals and Exhibition Stands aren't difficult to obtain. In fact, to make things easier, you can already find six of them gathered in the same place in Bubbly Basin, inside the former Cerulean Gym building. They're very close to the location of the Decorative Dive Ball.
Once you've obtained the Marine Sofa recipe, you can craft one at a Workbench using Seashell x1, Shiny Pearl x1, and Twine x1, so it shouldn't be difficult to make. With everything collected, place all these items together to complete the Mermaid's Gym habitat. Starmie should appear before long and is guaranteed to show up at any time of day and in any weather conditions.
