Pokémon Pokopia: How to Get Raikou, Entei, and Suicune

Learn how to find Raikou, Entei, and Suicune in Pokémon Pokopia and successfully register all three Legendary beasts in the Pokédex.

Raikou, Entei, and Suicune are three of the Legendary Pokémon that appear in Pokémon Pokopia and can be registered in the Pokédex of this Nintendo Switch 2 game. Since they're among the most special creatures in the game, we've prepared this entry of our guide to explain how to get them and show you their general details.

How to Find and Register Raikou, Entei, and Suicune

The methods for obtaining Raikou, Entei, and Suicune are fairly similar, although Raikou is a special case. The main way to encounter this Pokémon is simply to complete the Important Request "Brighten Things Up!", a main story mission that takes place in Bleak Beach.

In other words, your encounter with Raikou is guaranteed and tied to the main story. If you haven't completed this mission yet, or aren't sure what to do during any of its steps, you can check the related entry in our guide.

Pokémon Pokopia - How to get the Legendary Pokémon Raikou through the main story

During the final part of this mission, after you've brightened Bleak Beach enough and awakened Mosslax, Raikou will appear at the top of some ruins. Climb up to its position and talk to it. This short conversation will automatically register Raikou in your Pokédex, although you still won't be able to invite it to live in a house or habitat...

That said, there is a way to find Raikou, Entei, and Suicune and invite all three to live in a house. To do so, you'll need to travel to Dream Islands with Drifloon. Check the linked guide for more details. All three Legendary Pokémon can appear at random during these trips, although each one is associated with a particular island and Doll.

Pokémon Pokopia - Which Dream Islands to visit to find Raikou, Entei, and Suicune

More specifically, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune can appear on the islands accessed using the following Dolls:

  • Pikachu Doll: Raikou has a chance of appearing on the Ocean Dream Island.
  • Arcanine Doll: Entei has a chance of appearing on the Volcanic Dream Island.
  • Eevee Doll: Suicune has a chance of appearing on the Wasteland Dream Island.

How can you tell whether Raikou, Entei, or Suicune has appeared on one of these islands? Unfortunately, you can't know for certain before visiting. Their appearance is random, so you'll need some luck. Each day you visit one of these islands, there is a chance that its associated Legendary Pokémon will appear inside the underground cave found at the center of the island.

Pokémon Pokopia - Entrance to the Dream Island underground cave where Raikou, Entei, and Suicune can appear

We therefore recommend entering the cave and looking for terrain blocks that stand out from the surrounding area. These may look like walls blocking a path, including barriers made from ice blocks, lava rocks, or other unusual materials. Use Rock Smash to break through these blocks and uncover a secret room.

Pokémon Pokopia - Breaking walls inside a Dream Island cave to search for Raikou, Entei, and Suicune

If the Legendary Pokémon is hiding on the island, you'll find it behind one of these blocked passages inside the cave. If it isn't there, you'll only find collectibles or other items. When you do encounter the Pokémon, talk to it to register it in your Pokédex.

Pokémon Pokopia - Finding Raikou, Entei, and Suicune on Dream Islands and inviting them to move in

In addition to registering the Pokémon, you can also ask it to follow you. When you use Drifloon to return home, the Legendary Pokémon will travel back with you, allowing you to invite it to live in whichever area you choose.

Just remember that each Legendary beast is associated with a particular Doll and island, as explained above, and that the islands' contents change every day. If you visit an island and the Legendary Pokémon isn't there, you'll need to wait until the following day before trying again. Alternatively, you can use the trick of moving your console's clock forward to speed up the process. The choice is yours.
