As in many other games in the series, the Pokédex in Pokémon Pokopia reserves several of its final entries for the most special creatures of all. We're talking, of course, about Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. In this Nintendo Switch 2 game, Pokémon in these categories have special methods of acquisition. Some are tied to the story's Important Requests, while others are a little more "secret", so to speak...
In this dedicated entry of our guide, we'll show you which Legendary and Mythical Pokémon from previous generations are available in Pokopia. You can check their general characteristics and, of course, learn how to get each one easily so you can register them and complete your Pokédex.
These are the 10 Legendary Pokémon and 3 Mythical Pokémon available in Pokopia:
Kyogre is automatically registered in your Pokédex as part of the main story, during the Important Request "Yawn Up a Storm!", which takes place in Withered Wasteland.
You'll meet and automatically register Raikou as part of the main story, during the Important Request "Brighten Things Up!", which takes place in Bleak Beach. However, you'll need to complete another step if you want to properly befriend it and invite it to live in a house.
After this mission, Raikou can be found on the Dream Islands you visit using a Pikachu Doll. Bear in mind that there is only a chance of finding it, so its appearance isn't guaranteed. You'll need to make repeated trips to this type of island on different days until you're lucky enough to find the Pokémon inside the underground cave at the center of the island.
When you find Raikou on the island, make sure you talk to it and ask it to follow you. You can then return home with Drifloon and invite Raikou to live in the area, where it can have a home of its own.
Entei can be found on the Dream Islands you visit using an Arcanine Doll. Bear in mind that there is only a chance of finding it, so its appearance isn't guaranteed. You'll need to make repeated trips to this type of island on different days until you're lucky enough to find the Pokémon inside the underground cave at the center of the island.
When you find Entei on the island, make sure you talk to it and ask it to follow you. You can then return home with Drifloon and invite Entei to live in the area, where it can have a home of its own.
Suicune can be found on the Dream Islands you visit using an Eevee Doll. Bear in mind that there is only a chance of finding it, so its appearance isn't guaranteed. You'll need to make repeated trips to this type of island on different days until you're lucky enough to find the Pokémon inside the underground cave at the center of the island.
When you find Suicune on the island, make sure you talk to it and ask it to follow you. You can then return home with Drifloon and invite Suicune to live in the area, where it can have a home of its own.
Volcanion is automatically registered in your Pokédex as part of the main story, during the Important Request "Time to Party!", which takes place in Rocky Ridges.
To register Articuno, you must first travel to Palette Town. In this area, you'll find the Freezing Chambers construction kit, which allows you to build a special ice temple. Gather the required materials and ask other Pokémon to help construct the building. Once it's ready, head inside to find Articuno.
To register Zapdos, you must first travel to Palette Town. In this area, you'll find the Abandoned Power Plant construction kit, which allows you to build a special electric temple. Gather the required materials and ask other Pokémon to help construct the building. Once it's ready, head inside to find Zapdos.
To register Moltres, you must first travel to Palette Town. In this area, you'll find the Altar of Flame construction kit, which allows you to build a special fire temple. Gather the required materials and ask other Pokémon to help construct the building. Once it's ready, head inside to find Moltres.
You can occasionally see Lugia flying through the skies above any biome and dropping Silver Feathers. However, before you can register it, you must first have met the Legendary bird trio: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.
After meeting this requirement, you'll receive the recipe for crafting the Tidal Bell. Keep it in your inventory and wait until you see Lugia flying overhead again. When it appears, use the bell to call it down to your location and register it in the Pokédex.
You can occasionally see Ho-Oh flying through the skies above any biome and dropping Rainbow Feathers. However, before you can register it, you must first have met the Legendary beast trio: Raikou, Entei, and Suicune.
After meeting this requirement, you'll receive the recipe for crafting the Clear Bell. Keep it in your inventory and wait until you see Ho-Oh flying overhead again. When it appears, use the bell to call it down to your location and register it in the Pokédex.
Mewtwo is automatically registered in your Pokédex as part of the main story, during the Important Request "Rebuild the Huge Building!", which takes place in Sparkling Skylands.
After this mission, Mewtwo can also be found on the Dream Islands you visit using a Dragonite Doll. Bear in mind that there is only a chance of finding it, so its appearance isn't guaranteed. You'll need to make repeated trips to this type of island on different days until you're lucky enough to find the Pokémon inside a secret room in the underground cave at the center of the island.
When you find Mewtwo on the island, make sure you talk to it and ask it to follow you. You can then return home with Drifloon and invite Mewtwo to live in the area, where it can have a home of its own.
To find Mew, you must first collect all 27 Mysterious Slates. These can be obtained at random by breaking terrain blocks with a golden glow. Each slate represents one of the alphabet's Unown forms.
Once you have all the slates, enter a secret cave in Withered Wasteland by using Rock Smash on the wall blocking its entrance. Inside, you'll find a mural containing several spaces with unusual icons and shapes. Each space corresponds to one of the 27 Mysterious Slates. Simply place every slate in its correct position to reveal Mew and register it in the Pokédex.
Jirachi can be registered in your Event Pokédex exclusively during the limited-time "Wish Upon a Jirachi" event, which is available free of charge to all players from June 23 to July 8. Jirachi appears as the star of this event in front of any Pokémon Center you've already rebuilt, and you don't need to create its habitat before befriending it.
