Below, you will find our guide explaining how to unlock every Trophy and Achievement in Resident Evil 2 Remake.

  • Difficulty: 6/10.
  • Estimated time to Platinum: 30+ hours.
  • Are there any online trophies? No.
  • Is PS Plus required to unlock every trophy? No.
  • Does difficulty affect trophies? Yes. You must play on Hardcore difficulty to unlock two trophies.
  • Are there any missable trophies? Yes. This applies to virtually every trophy not related to the story, as progressing too far can prevent you from unlocking those that require specific enemies. Pay particular attention to trophies involving bosses and the sections featuring Sherry and Ada.
  • Minimum number of playthroughs for the Platinum/1,000G: Technically four, but realistically, seven is recommended.

How to unlock the Platinum Trophy quickly

Note: this is only a recommended approach for each playthrough. For example, you could try to earn an S Rank directly on Hardcore, which would unlock two trophies for that character at once, instead of earning an S Rank on Standard and then completing Hardcore without worrying about your rank. This also applies to the trophies for not using the Item Box or healing, as you can combine them with any playthrough.

  • Start your first playthrough on Assisted difficulty if you want to make things easier. It does not matter which character you choose, but destroy every Mr. Raccoon you can find.
  • For your second playthrough, remain in New Game but use the other character and find any remaining Mr. Raccoons.
  • Now start a 2nd Run with either character and collect as many Files as possible. You should be able to find all but two, which are exclusive to the other character’s 2nd Run. Try to earn an S Rank on Standard difficulty.
  • Next, play the other character’s 2nd Run and once again try to earn an S Rank on Standard difficulty. Make sure you collect any remaining Files.
  • Once you have completed Standard with an S Rank using both characters, you will need to complete the game again with both characters on Hardcore difficulty. You should already have the Samurai Edge, which should make this relatively easy.
  • Once you have unlocked almost every trophy, complete one final playthrough with either character in either scenario and finish the game without healing or using the Item Box.
  • Finally, complete The 4th Survivor.

Self-explanatory. Simply combine any two compatible items, such as a weapon and one of its custom parts.

All weapon custom parts and how to obtain them.
Don’t Need No Stinkin’ GunDefeat an enemy with a knife
Shortly after starting your first playthrough, you will obtain a Combat Knife, your first sub-weapon. From that point onward, you can use it instead of your handgun. You will soon encounter zombies in the west wing. Kill your first zombie by actively attacking it with the knife—not by using it when grabbed—to unlock the trophy.
Eat This!Counterattack with a sub-weapon
When an enemy grabs you from the front—with a few exceptions where the direction does not matter—you can counterattack with a knife or grenade before taking damage. This option will appear as long as you have one of these items in your inventory. Bear in mind that not every enemy attack is a grab. The easiest way to unlock the trophy is to keep a knife in your inventory and allow a standing zombie to approach and grab you from the front.
That’ll Hold ’EmUse Wooden Boards to board up a window
Bear in mind that you can only do this inside the Police Station. Simply collect any of the Wooden Boards found throughout the building and use them on a window in the west wing, the corridor above the Parking Garage in the east wing, or beside the stairs in front of the Darkroom.
Vermin ExterminationDestroy a Mr. Raccoon

Bon AppétitShoot the grenade you fed to an enemy
When an enemy grabs you and you use a grenade to escape, if that enemy is a zombie, Licker, or zombie dog, you will shove the grenade into its mouth. The creature will then remain still until the grenade explodes. Regardless of which type of grenade you used, draw your weapon and shoot the enemy in the head before it detonates on its own. This will immediately trigger the explosive and unlock the trophy.
Zombie RoundupKill three enemies at once with a sub-weapon
To unlock this trophy, you must obviously kill at least three enemies simultaneously with a Hand Grenade. The easiest opportunity comes near the beginning of a 2nd Run. The small room containing the M19/Quickdraw Army also contains a grenade. Pick it up and use it against the group of zombies at the top of the stairs.
Like Skeet ShootingShoot a zombie dog or a Licker out of the air
Self-explanatory. It is much easier to shoot down a zombie dog when it leaps at you than to provoke a Licker into jumping. However, if the Licker is far enough away, you can try attracting its attention and shooting it as it approaches.
Keep Their Heads Ringin’Paralyze a Licker’s sense of hearing
The easiest way to unlock this trophy is to play as Claire and wait until you reach the basement of the Police Station. Once you obtain the Diamond Key, make sure you have a Flash Grenade. As you return to the Parking Garage, run through the corridor outside the Kennel and a Licker will leap at you, allowing you to shove the Flash Grenade into its mouth. Shoot it in the head afterward. The grenade will explode and paralyze the Licker’s sense of hearing.
Hats Off!Shoot Tyrant’s hat off his head
Self-explanatory. Once the Tyrant appears, shoot him in the head to knock off his hat.
Gotcha!Defeat G (Stage 2) using the crane only once
During the second battle against Birkin, at the end of the Sewers section, you must use the crane to defeat him. Before pressing the button to slam the container into him, make sure you have dealt enough damage. Forcing him to his knees three times should be enough to finish him with a single crane strike.
Treasure HunterUsing the photo hints, find two hidden items
You must find the film rolls and use them to locate the secret items featured in the Hiding Place photos.
A Waist of SpaceExpand your inventory slots to the maximum
Collect every Hip Pouch.
One Slick Super-SpyUse only the EMF Visualizer to complete Ada’s gameplay segment
Self-explanatory. As long as you know what to do, this should not be particularly difficult. Do not stop to shoot the Tyrant; simply hurry through the ventilation fan and you should be fine.
Young EscapeeEscape the bedroom within 60 seconds during Sherry’s segment
This trophy can be quite difficult if you do not know exactly what it requires. During Claire’s story, as soon as you begin playing as Sherry, you must pick up the doll, examine it, turn it around, remove the block, place it in the puzzle, solve the puzzle, collect the scissors, use them on the wall, and leave the room—all in under 60 seconds. Fortunately, the puzzle is always the same, so a video is particularly useful here.

Save your game before solving the puzzle in the Private Collection Room, as you will not know whether you succeeded until you leave. An autosave will then occur, meaning you would otherwise have to wait until your next playthrough to try again.

With Time to SpareDefeat G (Stage 4) with more than four minutes left until detonation
Self-explanatory, and only obtainable while playing as Claire. You must defeat the final boss with more than four minutes remaining on the self-destruct timer. As long as you picked up the Minigun, this is possible even on Hardcore difficulty.
In the Blink of an EyeDefeat Super Tyrant with more than five minutes left until detonation
Self-explanatory and similar to the previous trophy, although this one can only be unlocked while playing as Leon. The key is to reach the elevator where the Super Tyrant appears as quickly as possible, then survive until the Anti-Tank Rocket is dropped so you can finish the battle.

Leon "S." KennedyComplete Leon’s story on Standard or Hardcore with an S Rank
To unlock this trophy, you must earn an S Rank with Leon on any difficulty other than Assisted. You can do this in either New Game or 2nd Run.
Sizzling Scarlet HeroComplete Claire’s story on Standard or Hardcore with an S Rank
To unlock this trophy, you must earn an S Rank with Claire on any difficulty other than Assisted. You can do this in either New Game or 2nd Run.
Hardcore RookieComplete Leon’s story on Hardcore difficulty
You must complete Hardcore difficulty with Leon. It does not matter whether you do so in New Game or 2nd Run, nor does your final rank matter. Simply reach the end to unlock the trophy.
Hardcore College StudentComplete Claire’s story on Hardcore difficulty
You must complete Hardcore difficulty with Claire. It does not matter whether you do so in New Game or 2nd Run, nor does your final rank matter. Simply reach the end to unlock the trophy.
FrugalistComplete the game without using a recovery item
Simply complete the game without using a single Herb or First Aid Spray. This can be done on Assisted difficulty, but there is one problem: the automatic health regeneration apparently invalidates the trophy. Therefore, if you want to do this on the easiest difficulty, you must avoid taking any damage. If something hits you, simply reload your most recent save.
MinimalistComplete the game without opening the Item Box
Self-explanatory. Bear in mind that you cannot discard weapons, so do not pick one up unless you are certain you will use it. The easiest approach is to play as Claire on Assisted difficulty and only collect the Grenade Launcher.
