When you start the game, only the New Game option will be available. In addition to selecting the difficulty level, you will also have to choose your character: Leon or Claire.
Although the gameplay differences are minimal, bear in mind that each character has their own exclusive weapons and areas, even though most of the content is shared. The puzzles are the same for both characters.
Throughout the guide, we will let you know whenever you enter a character-exclusive area or encounter differences within locations shared by both characters. Please note that this guide only applies to New Game, also known as Scenario A. If you are playing 2nd Run, you will need to consult our 2nd Run walkthrough (also known as Scenario B).
