One of the core mechanics in Resident Evil 2 Remake, as in every main installment up to RE5, is inventory management. The number of items you can carry is quite limited. However, this time there is a way to increase your maximum inventory capacity.
Only available during a 2nd Run. It is impossible to miss, as it is sitting on the counter beside the computer.
You will find it inside the safe.
Only available during a 1st Run. It is beside the File concerning the explosives, near the metal gate.
It is inside the locker beside the typewriter. This one is difficult to miss, as it is in the safe room you reach after your first battle against Birkin and before arriving at the Parking Garage.
To obtain this Hip Pouch, you must complete the Safety Deposit Room locker puzzle. You will not be able to complete it until you are searching for the Electronic Parts.
Once you have the T-Bar Valve Handle, open the locked door in the southeastern corner of the Lower Waterway. You can then take the elevator up to this previously inaccessible room. The Hip Pouch is on the table.
Once you have the Signal Modulator, return to the Nap Room at the eastern end of the East Area and use it on the Circuit Breaker mounted on the wall. The sleeping pods will open, allowing you to collect the Hip Pouch from inside one of them. Be careful, as there is a zombie inside the middle pod.
