Film Rolls / Photos in Resident Evil 2 Remake - LOCATIONS

Just like in the original game, Resident Evil 2 Remake features a special type of item called Roll Film (photo rolls). You can take these items to the Darkroom (Police Station, 1F, west wing) and develop them in the small room at the back to obtain photographs.

These photographs provide clues on how to progress, how to open lockers, and how to obtain a part for the MQ 11 or the Lightning Hawk.

But that’s not all. Just like in Resident Evil 2, there is also a secret roll of film that can only be obtained by doing something very, very specific. Curious? Don’t worry—we’ll explain how to find every roll of film in the game:

All Film Rolls and where to find them

These are the "regular" Film Rolls you can obtain throughout the game.

• Safety Deposit Room (Police Station, 1F, west wing): inside one of the lockers opened with a code. Enter 106 to unlock it.
• Lounge (Police Station, 2F, west wing): only appears during the 2nd Run. You’ll find it inside a tin box opposite the Unicorn Statue.
• Firing Range (Police Station, Parking Garage): inside the small room north of the Firing Range, which is locked with the Diamond Key.
• Workroom (Sewers, Upper Level): to reach this area, where you’ll also find one of the Hip Pouches, you need to obtain the T-Bar Valve Handle, head to the southeastern end of the Lower Waterway, open the gate and take the lift. The film will be on one of the tables.

Where are the hiding places?

The last Film Roll is quite special. When you develop it—after returning to the Police Station from the Sewers Break Room once you have obtained the Sewer Key—it reveals two locations containing some kind of secret: a "hiding place" with an unknown item waiting inside.

Hiding Place No. 1

• Location: Press Room (Police Station, 1F, east wing)
• What do you need to do? Inside the Press Room, look for the table on the left with a boombox sitting on top of it.
• Reward: you’ll find ammo for either the Flamethrower or the Spark Shot.

Hiding Place No. 2

• Location: the small office on the left inside the S.T.A.R.S. Office.
• What do you need to do? Simply enter the small office on your left as soon as you enter the room. An interaction prompt will appear when you approach the desk.
• Reward: Red Dot Sight for the Lightning Hawk / High-Capacity Mag for the MQ 11.

Note: Bear in mind that these items will not appear until you have found and developed the "Hiding Place" Film Roll, so don’t bother searching for them until you have unlocked them.

Secret Hiding Place Film Roll

Just like in the original, there is a small Easter egg involving a secret roll of film that cannot be found through normal means. For anyone who doesn’t remember, obtaining it back in 1998 involved examining Wesker’s desk 50 times.

This time around, all you need to do is examine the gap between the chair and Wesker’s desk after collecting the item from the Hiding Place.

This is the hidden "Rising Rookie" Film Roll, and what you’ll find after developing it may surprise you! Okay, we won’t keep you in suspense—it’s just a fun little Easter egg. Develop it in the Darkroom and you’ll obtain a photo of Rebecca Chambers, the sole survivor of Bravo Team, wearing her sports outfit, which would later appear as an alternate costume in Resident Evil 0.
