How to Get S and S+ Ranks in Resident Evil 2 Remake

Resident Evil 2 Remake, like its predecessors, awards you a rank when you complete the game. This rank is represented by a letter, with S being the highest, followed by A, B, C, and so on. Achieving an S Rank grants you certain rewards. But how do you earn it?

You should know that, this time, your S Rank depends entirely on how long it takes you to complete the game. Here are a few things to bear in mind:

• You can earn an S Rank on Assisted, Standard, or Hardcore difficulty.
• There are no rewards for earning an S Rank on Assisted difficulty.
• Completing the game on Standard or Hardcore with an S Rank using either character, whether in New Game or New Game [2nd Run], rewards you with the Samurai Edge with Infinite Ammo.
• There is one trophy for earning an S Rank on Standard or Hardcore with Leon and another for doing so with Claire.
• Earning an S Rank on Hardcore rewards you with the LE 5 submachine gun with Infinite Ammo.

S Rank requirements

As explained above, the only requirement for earning an S Rank is completing the game within a specific time limit. It is worth noting that your number of saves, how often you heal, how many First Aid Sprays you use, and how many times you access the Item Box do not affect your rank.

You should also bear in mind that the timer continues to run while the map or inventory is open, but stops when you pause the game.

These are the requirements for earning an S Rank:

• On Standard difficulty: complete New Game in under three hours and 30 minutes, or New Game [2nd Run] in under three hours.
• On Hardcore difficulty: complete New Game in under two hours and 30 minutes, or New Game [2nd Run] in under two hours.
