In Resident Evil 2 Remake, we have a good selection of weapons at our disposal. However, one of the series’ classic features is the ability to unlock weapons with infinite ammo after reaching certain milestones. Are there weapons with infinite ammo in Resident Evil 2 Remake? Yes, there are.
However, you should bear in mind that they are not easy to unlock. The weapons with infinite ammo available in the game are:
All weapons will become available in the Item Box as soon as you meet their unlock requirements, regardless of whether you have already started a game.
The handgun designed specifically for S.T.A.R.S. members is relatively easy to unlock. You simply need to earn an S Rank on Standard or Hardcore difficulty with either character. If you are having trouble, check out our S Rank guide.
The Samurai Edge is relatively powerful and has a 15-round magazine. Although it has infinite ammo, it still needs to be reloaded.
This knife will never break, no matter how much you use it. However, bear in mind that if you stab it into an enemy while defending yourself from an attack, you must retrieve it after killing the monster or you will lose it. This means you should not use it against Birkin or the Tyrant, as there is no way to retrieve it from these enemies.
To unlock the unbreakable Combat Knife, you simply need to destroy every Mr. Raccoon in the game.
This is a very useful submachine gun, especially when aimed at enemies’ limbs. It has a 30-round magazine, so remember that you will still need to reload frequently, as it burns through ammunition very quickly.
Unlocking this weapon is considerably more difficult. You must earn an S Rank on Hardcore difficulty. In other words, you must complete the highest difficulty setting in no more than two and a half hours when playing a 1st Run, or no more than two hours when playing a 2nd Run. Bear in mind that you can save as many times as you like and use weapons with infinite ammo without affecting your ability to earn an S Rank. Technically, however, you will only have the Samurai Edge at this point.
Now the fun really begins. Leon and Claire’s most powerful weapons, which are obtained at the end of the game and can normally only be used against their respective final bosses, can also be unlocked with infinite ammo. However, we can safely say that the vast majority of players will never obtain them—and understandably so.
To unlock these two weapons, you must earn an S+ Rank on Hardcore difficulty. S+? Is there really a rank above S Rank? Yes, and its requirements are quite something:
Of course, by the time you unlock these weapons... will there really be anything left for you to do? Honestly, we doubt it.
