How to Unlock The Tofu Survivor in Resident Evil 2 Remake

How to Unlock The Tofu Survivor

Unlocking this game mode is relatively straightforward, at least in theory. First, you must unlock The 4th Survivor. Then you "simply" need to complete that mode. Once you have done so, The Tofu Survivor will appear in the Extra Modes menu.

Tofu’s "arsenal" consists of:

• Combat Knife at half durability x18.
• Green Herb.
• Red Herb x2.
• Blue Herb.

The route is exactly the same as HUNK’s. Although Tofu can withstand slightly more damage than the Grim Reaper, bear in mind that he is far from indestructible. What may initially seem like a disadvantage is actually fairly well balanced: you can escape from 18 grabs, so the key is knowing when to use each knife.

Based on our experience, we recommend the following:

• Your first grab will come from one of the two G-Adults in the Sewers. Avoid being grabbed a second time (1).
• On the bridge in the Treatment Pool Room, where the dogs appear, you need to avoid the first female zombie. The second one will grab you (2).
• In the Parking Garage, let the second zombie—the one between the cars—grab you. Stabbing it will push back the zombie behind it and clear a path for you (3).
• In the Parking Garage hallway, let the Licker grab you (4).
• In the East Office hallway, after passing the Tyrant, let the zombie before the door leading to the West Office grab you (5), followed by at least two zombies inside the office (7).
• Inside the West Office, take the route along the right-hand side and another zombie will grab you (8).
• When you climb the stairs beside the Darkroom, a zombie will lunge at you from the top of the stairs (9). It is almost impossible to avoid another one grabbing you before the Shower Room (10).
• In the hallway outside the S.T.A.R.S. Office, let at least one Ivy grab you. Stabbing it will push the other one out of the way (11).
• When you enter the Library, let the zombie that breaks through the door grab you (12).
• As you head toward the Art Room hallway, let the zombie that breaks through the door grab you (13). Another zombie will most likely grab you as well (14).
• You must avoid being grabbed by the G-Adult when heading out toward the rooftop. Unfortunately, this is something you will only master through experience.
• After going down the stairs, stab the zombie pressed against the fence a few times before heading out into the Courtyard.
• You will have four grabs left to use in the Courtyard. One must be saved for the Ivy, while you can decide where to use the remaining three.

Rewards for Completing The Tofu Survivor

Completing The Tofu Survivor as Tofu unlocks a new type of Tofu character. Finishing the mode with that character will unlock others in turn. Each one has its own equipment: some carry grenades instead of knives, another uses the weapons from the 2nd Run, and others even wield a rocket launcher and minigun... These characters are mainly a fun bonus for players capable of overcoming the challenge.
