Claire’s Weapons
This is Claire’s default handgun. Although it has a low ammo capacity, it can be fitted with upgrades that considerably increase its firepower. This is the weapon you should use to neutralize zombies.
It uses Handgun Ammo and, once upgraded, High-Powered Rounds.
A submachine gun found in the S.T.A.R.S. Office. Use the USB Dongle Key on the computer to open the Armory. It has an extremely high rate of fire and a fairly large magazine—holding either 25 or 50 rounds depending on whether you have installed its upgrade—but it does not deal much damage. From the Sewers onward, it is the ideal general-purpose weapon for eliminating zombies.
It uses Submachine Gun Ammo.
A grenade launcher that must be reloaded after every shot. It can be found in the Safety Deposit Room, in the west wing of the Police Station’s first floor. You will need to collect the Weapons Locker Key Card from the Art Room on the second floor of the east wing before you can open the locker and retrieve it.
Since it must be reloaded after every shot, it is best saved for moments when you truly need it. For example, it is perfect for eliminating Lickers from a safe distance. You will need more than one hit, so make sure you always have at least two rounds available.
It uses Flame Rounds and Acid Rounds. Flame Rounds have a wide area of effect and continuously damage enemies they set on fire, while Acid Rounds affect a smaller area but deal slightly more damage to the enemy they hit.
A semiautomatic handgun that can be obtained in the Parking Garage. Collect the Car Key from the Firing Range, return to the garage, examine it, and press the button on the back to open a car’s trunk and find the weapon inside.
It is a good alternative to the SLS 60 revolver during the final section of the Police Station. It has a very large magazine and a laser sight that makes it easier to aim for zombies’ heads.
It uses Handgun Ammo.
It can be found in the Supplies Storage Room in the Sewers, at the western end of the dangerous area filled with G-Adults. To use it, you must fire and keep the weapon aimed at the target, electrocuting it until the needle delivers a final electrical discharge.
It is the perfect weapon against G-Adults, but given how late you obtain it, you may get more use from it by eliminating zombies with a single shot.
It uses Needle Cartridges.
A Gatling gun exclusive to Claire that can only be obtained at the end of the game, in the room where you insert the Joint Plug to power the train. It is powerful, has a high rate of fire, and comes with a 400-round magazine that you can unload into the final boss.
A revolver that can only be obtained in New Game [2nd Run]. It appears in the first room of the game, where you find the Courtyard Key after using the Bolt Cutter for the first time.
This weapon combines the power of a shotgun with the range of a handgun, but it is somewhat difficult to aim and has a tiny capacity. It will become your all-purpose weapon throughout the playthrough.
It uses Large-Caliber Handgun Ammo, the default handgun ammunition in New Game [2nd Run].
Leon’s Weapons
This is Leon’s default handgun. There is nothing particularly special about it, except that fitting it with the stock allows it to fire three-round bursts. It is a good weapon for killing zombies throughout the game.
It uses Handgun Ammo.
The shotgun. It works exactly as it does in every other game featuring this type of weapon: tremendous power but limited range. Its upgrades provide slightly more range and considerably improve its capacity.
When fired at a zombie’s head from close range, it can kill the zombie with a single shot. It is also perfect if you manage to sneak up on a Licker and fire two point-blank blasts into it, neutralizing it instantly.
It uses Shotgun Shells.
A magnum handgun and the most powerful weapon in the game. Once fitted with the Long Barrel, its capacity increases from three to seven rounds and it becomes even deadlier.
This is the kind of weapon you should save for special occasions. Personally, we recommend keeping it for situations where you need to clear a hallway full of Lickers, for example.
It uses MAG Ammo.
It can be found in the Supplies Storage Room in the Sewers, at the western end of the dangerous area filled with G-Adults. It is simple to use: hold down the trigger to spray a stream of flames at the target, then release it to stop. This sets the enemy on fire and deals continuous damage.
Although it is the best weapon to use against G-Adults, we recommend saving it for a very different purpose: it is the perfect weapon for your second encounter with Birkin, during the battle involving the shipping container. It deals tremendous damage and repeatedly staggers him. Start spraying flames as soon as he begins to get back up. You do not need to aim at any particular body part, and he will fall within seconds.
It is also the weapon you need to set Ivy enemies on fire and prevent them from getting back up.
It uses Flamethrower Fuel.
This weapon is exclusive to Leon. You obtain it during the final battle against the Super Tyrant after surviving for a couple of minutes while the elevator rises. It is simple to use: raise the weapon, aim, fire, and say goodbye to the enemy.
A handgun that can only be obtained in New Game [2nd Run]. It appears in the first room of the game, where you find the Courtyard Key after using the Bolt Cutter for the first time.
This weapon combines the power of a shotgun with the range of a handgun. It is very easy to aim and powerful enough to stagger Mr. X with four or five shots. However, it only holds seven rounds, so aim carefully.
It uses Large-Caliber Handgun Ammo, the default handgun ammunition in New Game [2nd Run].
