Shadows Fall is the fourteenth chapter of the story in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. It begins at the end of Bloodbath on the Bridge, after finishing the fight against Benkei. As usual, throughout this spoiler-free walkthrough we'll help you complete every story chapter 100%, making sure you don't miss anything along the way and providing tips for the more difficult situations.

Optional content

Before continuing with the story, there are a few new things we can do. Start by heading to the far end of the bridge where you fought Benkei to find Oni Glyph #18 in Kyoto. Activating it will reveal Treasure #43, which contains the Genma Note: Benkei.

If you didn't do so earlier, you can now head directly to the southwestern end of Gojo Street, as the Malice blocking the way has disappeared. Head north from the bridge without reaching the objective, pass through the narrow streets and then turn west toward the beach. It won't take long to find another Treasure containing an Oni Stone.

In the alley to the east, you'll find a chest containing Leather.

Now use the ladder to reach the alley east of the building, using the rooftop wall-run section to cross over. Head south to find another chest containing more Leather.

Break the lock to open the shortcut, then head north to another chest containing Cotton Cloth.

Don't head toward the Rift just yet. You can cross the path leading to it without destroying the Malice Barrier and leave through the northern side, but don't approach the objective. First, complete the following side missions:

As always, before continuing, take a look at your abilities and enhancements to see if there's anything new you want to unlock.

Seal the Rifts

Now we're ready. Start with the Rift in the southwestern part of Eastern Kyoto, the one we deliberately ignored a moment ago. Simply destroy the Malice Barrier and continue into the combat area.

The game will teach you that Rifts can now empower nearby Genma unless you shoot them. You'll only have to deal with a couple of waves of regular enemies before you can seal the Rift, so there's nothing too dangerous here. Once the area is clear, head to the area southwest of Toribeno, in the southeastern corner of the fields. There was nothing here before, only a wall of Malice that prevented you from entering.

It's a straightforward route. The only item worth highlighting is a chest containing Iron x2, directly beneath the wall-running section you need to use to continue.

Now wall run across to the second Rift. Once again, you'll only have to deal with regular Genma. Seal this second Rift to complete the mission and begin A Tempest at the Temple.
