A Haunted Distraction 100% Walkthrough - Onimusha: Way of the Sword

A Haunted Distraction is the nineteenth chapter of the story in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. It begins at the end of The Demon on the Mount, after defeating Shuten Doji. As usual, throughout this spoiler-free walkthrough we'll help you complete every story chapter 100%, making sure you don't miss anything along the way and providing tips for the more difficult situations.

Seal the Rifts

Travel to the Shijo Street Spirit Mirror and continue east from there.

As soon as you enter the Malice-covered area, head into the building to the north to find a chest containing Leather and Cotton Cloth.

Now head directly to the building to the south and climb the ladder to find another Treasure containing an Oni Stone.

Don't continue east yet. We're going to make a short detour first. Head south along Shijo Street and go around the entire area so you can approach Yasaka Shrine from the south.

Go all the way to the end and turn west to find another Treasure. It contains a Power Stone.

Now return to Shijo Street and head all the way east toward the Malice. Turn north and climb the slope through the corruption to reach the first Malice-emitting plant.

From the plant, you can cross the rooftop to reach the street east of the barrier. As soon as you drop down, and before doing anything else, climb the ladder to the north to reach the second Malice-emitting plant. Destroy it, defeat the Genma and seal the first Rift.

Then head south toward another Malice-filled area, where you'll find two material chests, and climb the ladder to reach the third Malice-emitting plant. Destroy it to continue east. Once you land, check the northwestern corner to find a chest containing Leather and Iron.

Continue all the way east until you reach another cloud of Malice. Head south through the haze, wall run across and destroy the fourth Malice-emitting plant. Finally, climb onto the rooftops and wall run east to reach the second Rift. The Malice-emitting plant is on a rooftop to the south, so destroy it first to make sealing the Rift easier. A Dohatsu-ten will emerge from this Rift during the second wave.

After the cutscene, Storm Chaser will begin.
