Practice Ground in Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Among the different side missions you can complete in Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the Practice Ground. This is an area you can access from Spirit Mirrors, where you can complete training drills for newly unlocked abilities and rematch bosses you've already defeated during the story. Completing these activities rewards you with different types of items.

Keep in mind that the boss section of this guide contains unavoidable spoilers in the form of boss names.

Drills

These are the game's basic and advanced combat tutorials. Remember that most of these drills require you to have unlocked the ability needed to perform the corresponding action. For example, you won't be able to practise Chain Issen until you've unlocked the basic skill Chain Issen.

• Chain Issen: you'll receive Amulet of Introspection x2.
• Oni Strength: you'll receive Prayer Beads x2.
• Unavoidable Attacks: you'll receive Heavy Restorative x2.
• Countering Stances: you'll receive White Rice Ball x2.
• The Two Celestials: you'll receive Mild Restorative x2.
• Wind-Whipper: you'll receive Lesser Might Talisman x2.

Boss Rematch

Once you defeat a boss, it becomes available for a rematch in the Practice Ground. You can replay these fights at different difficulty levels and choose from any Hozuki Pouches you have unlocked. If you defeat every boss on Story or Action difficulty, you'll unlock the Warlord's Armor Outfit.
