Resident Evil Requiem is an action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. The series returns to Raccoon City with a new story intertwining two protagonists with distinct play styles, combining Grace’s tense, exploration-focused survival horror gameplay with Leon’s more intense and spectacular action.

The ninth mainline instalment in Capcom’s legendary horror series

Resident Evil Requiem takes us back to Raccoon City, the city scarred by the 1998 outbreak and its subsequent destruction. Here, a new series of mysterious deaths connects the past to an emerging biological threat. The adventure stars Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst specialising in investigation and deduction, and Leon S. Kennedy, a veteran agent in the fight against bioterrorism. The two characters feature in distinct segments that alternate throughout the game, offering different approaches to both storytelling and gameplay.

The game brings back the series’ classic foundations, including exploration, resource management, combat and puzzle-solving, with interconnected environments where players must find key items, manage ammunition and face enemies that maintain a constant sense of tension. Grace’s segments offer a slower pace closer to classic survival horror, while Leon’s sections feature intense action in the style of Resident Evil 4.

One of its main features is the ability to switch between first- and third-person perspectives at any time, adapting the viewpoint to your preferred play style and allowing you to play either like the latest mainline entries or like the acclaimed remakes. It also includes several difficulty modes that alter resource management and the save system, heightening the tension during the most demanding playthroughs.

On a technical level, the game once again uses the RE Engine to deliver spectacular visuals, with detailed environments, advanced ray-traced lighting and effects that reinforce the horror atmosphere, accompanied by sound design that heightens the tension and sense of danger in every location.
