East Raccoon City is the tenth chapter or tenth part of the story of Resident Evil Requiem. It begins after escaping from the Patient Center. As usual, throughout this walkthrough we will provide directions to help you complete as much of the game as possible, avoiding spoilers wherever possible while ensuring that you obtain all collectibles, receive help with puzzles and more.

Head to central Raccoon City

Ah, Raccoon City. Birthplace of Umbrella. If you look to your right, you will see... rubble. Just like on the left. As you proceed, you will see the Raccoon City Incident Newspaper on the ground to the right.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the Raccoon City Incident Newspaper on the ground

When you reach the junction, head west and enter Cafe Oasis.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of Cafe Oasis, where a Mr. Raccoon can be found

There is a Mr. Raccoon behind the counter. You can collect some Scrap from the kitchen. Continue to the Applegate Hotel to the west. There are a couple of items in reception, including a First Aid Kit behind the desk. Afterwards, go through the southern door. Proceed a short distance to trigger a cutscene.

Find a way out

We will deal with "that problem" later. Make your way through the hallway and, when the time comes, simply back away without shooting. Once you regain control of Leon, run south, turn right and continue northwest, cutting through some cobwebs until you reach a door you must open. Follow the only available path and climb some stairs to reach another hallway covered in cobwebs.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Leon escapes from the giant spider through the NF Building

There is a crate on the right beyond the first cobweb. Break it to collect resources and continue. Shortly afterwards, spiders will begin to appear. They can be killed with a single handgun shot, melee attack or shotgun blast, which may hit several at once. Be careful when approaching the emergency exit, as Shelob’s nasty cousin will try to attack you through the hole on the left. Wait for it to move away, then head outside and climb the ladder.

Eliminate the giant spider

Right, before attacking, your target is the bulb on its rear, which it will raise after taking enough damage from the front.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, the Titan Tarantula's weak point after stunning it

If you have ammunition for the Requiem, wait until you can shoot it directly. As soon as the battle begins, run to the right until you see a red barrel. Wait until the creature is within range and interact with the barrel to throw it at the monster. This will stun the Titan Tarantula, allowing you to land three shots with the Requiem. Afterwards, climb the broken ladder behind you to find another barrel and repeat the process. If you run out of ammunition, use the rifle.

Make sure you search the area for resources. Among them is a container of Gunpowder, which you must use to craft shotgun or rifle ammunition. Choose either one, as we will remind you to craft the other later for the corresponding achievement/trophy. Be extremely careful, as the creature may try to grab you if you pass near the windows and will throw smaller spiders at you after taking enough damage. If you can throw a grenade between its legs and make it explode behind the creature, it will deal maximum damage.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Leon finishes off the Titan Tarantula

Head to central Raccoon City

Climb the stairs from the platform, pass through the turnstile to head south and open the gate to return to the street and trigger another cutscene. Begin by heading northeast. There is a van containing ammunition beside the fence. Then head to the Central Camp. There is a car behind the truck with more ammunition in its boot.

Search the camp

Enter the tent and you will find the Corps of Engineers Orders on the table. Look around and you will see a container you can open in one corner with more ammunition inside. Now locate the generator beyond the tent.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, generator in the Central Camp beyond the tent

Activating it will trigger a cutscene. From now on, you can use computers to save your game manually. You will find the Tactical Tracker inside the tent on the left.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Tactical Tracker inside the Central Camp tent

From now on, you will earn credits that can be used to purchase weapons and upgrades.

Obtain the detonator components

Press the switch beside the southern door and slip beneath the shutter. If you enter the office on the left, you will find a Hand Grenade and Gunpowder, although this type cannot be used to craft shotgun or rifle ammunition. Continue west and regular zombies will begin to appear.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, zombies in the Logistics Warehouse

Make sure you eliminate all of them and collect any resources they drop. Once the area is secure, shoot the fastening on the crate hanging from the ceiling so that you can climb onto it.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, fastening on the crate hanging from the Logistics Warehouse ceiling

Once upstairs, quickly turn left and drop onto the shelves. More zombies will appear for you to eliminate. Head towards the southern end of the shelves to see another two crate fastenings that you can break.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, crate fastenings in the southwestern and southern sections of the Logistics Warehouse ceiling

Collect all the items and climb onto the southern crate. In addition to a zombie, you will find a door with the Cedarbrook Apartments Key beside it. Continue until you leave the building, then climb the ladder to reach a generator without any fuel. Follow the only available path to the rooftop, where you will find a yellow container holding the Distributor for the detonator.

You must now use the binoculars to locate three points:

  • The antenna beside the water tower, directly ahead.
  • There is another antenna directly behind you, on the opposite side from the one beside the water tower.
  • The final thing you must inspect is below and to the left of the water tower. You can see a reference image below. It is the petrol station.
Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the petrol station without an antenna that Leon must investigate

Use the elevator to return to the Central Camp. Consider purchasing the case upgrade before buying any weapons. You should also combine two Green Herbs, as you have not yet crafted Green Herb (G+G). You previously obtained one directly, but it was not crafted and therefore did not count towards the achievement/trophy for crafting every item. You should also craft handgun ammunition using some of the Gunpowder you collected in the warehouse. This should bring your challenge progress to 5/9.

Now go to the northeastern door of the Central Camp and use the key you collected to enter the Cedarbrook Apartments.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the door leading to the Cedarbrook Apartments

You will see a crate hanging from some scaffolding. Approach it and knock it down with an axe strike to obtain a Hand Grenade. Eventually, you will reach a courtyard with three paths: stairs on the left leading up to a locked door, stairs leading down to a garage and a ladder that you can lower by shooting it. Begin with the ladder, climb it and collect the resources.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Cedarbrook Apartments courtyard with three different paths

Afterwards, head downstairs to the garage. Eliminate the zombie and enter the first room on the left.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the Mr. Raccoon in the first room along the Underground Garage hallway

You will see another Mr. Raccoon on top of a crate.

Collect the items in the room, return to the hallway and go through the door. If you head towards the flooded area where the zombie is located, you will see a battery box. On the same box, you will find the Battery Storage Locations document. Now climb the ladder on the left to enter the vehicle-filled section of the garage that was previously blocked. Remember that zombies cannot see your flashlight, so you can approach them stealthily if their backs are turned to Leon.

This area is easier to navigate than it is to explain. Simply move between the vehicles and open the back of three trucks—in the southwest, centre and northeast—if you want to collect resources, although the central one contains enemies. Make sure you open the chest in the northern area, to the right of the door.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the chest containing Gunpowder (Large) in the Underground Garage

The chest contains Gunpowder (Large). You can now craft either shotgun or rifle ammunition—whichever type you did not create with the previous batch—to reach 6/9 in the crafting challenge. Head to the northwestern area and enter the room to find the Gal. You can now craft machine-gun ammunition, bringing your challenge progress to 7/9. Collect the Battery, climb the ladder and insert it into the battery box beside the garage gate.

Now take the southeastern exit. There is another batch of Gunpowder (Large) in the next room that you should save. There is a locked door to the north and a ladder leading down. It is the only available path, so down we go.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, area southeast of the Underground Garage leading to the Sewer Facility

There is only one path, so follow it until you drop down from a walkway. As soon as you land, look inside the tunnel behind you. There is a crate you can break and the Valve Wheel you must use on the other side. Be extremely careful, as zombies will appear and using the valve will cause another one of those bloated creatures covered in pustules, like the one in the Chapel, to emerge. The area is teeming with enemies, but there are a couple of explosive barrels you can use if any of them transform into Mutant Heads. Afterwards, make sure you turn the valve all the way to push the block as far as it will go.

This will allow you to climb the stairs and cross over the block’s grate to reach a door on the other side of the broken walkway.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, office at the end of the broken walkway in the Sewer Facility

You will find the second Battery, so open the Underground Garage gate and leave via the ramp. Begin by heading left to trigger a cutscene. Once it ends, you will obtain the BSAA Container Key, a new type of collectible that we will point out whenever necessary, as always. There is an open container beside the bodies. Enter it to collect an Injection and the Inventory List document.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the container holding the Inventory List document opposite the entrance to the Cedarbrook Apartments

Before continuing, head west. You will find the controls for a crane beside the sinkhole, on the right-hand side of the hole. This will allow you to knock down a beam and create a shortcut to the Central Camp. Reorganise your inventory, spend your points... whatever you need to do. Remember to check car boots and vans. If you have another batch of Gunpowder (Large), craft a Hand Grenade to bring your challenge progress to 8/9. Do you know what you still need to craft? A Green Herb (G+G+G), combining three Green Herbs at the same time instead of combining a (G+G) mixture with another Green Herb. Doing so will unlock the Master Craftsman achievement/trophy. That is one less thing to worry about.

Now open the BSAA container beside the tent to obtain the Repair Kit.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Repair Kit in Leon's inventory

Return east and this time look north of the BSAA soldiers. You should see a ladder that you can lower with a single shot. Climb it to collect a Hand Grenade and jump into the Petrol Station grounds.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, ladder north of the dead BSAA soldiers providing access to the petrol station

Eliminate the lone zombie—a poor unfortunate soul who has been waiting since 1998 to pay twenty euros for diesel while the petrol station attendant is in the back room taking baguettes out of the oven—and enter the shop to find a Mr. Raccoon on a shelf opposite the door.

Resident Evil Requiem - Mr. Raccoon in East Raccoon City, location of the petrol station shop

Be extremely careful when walking around the shelf, as there is a lone zombie pretending to be dead. A zombie pretending to be dead—now that is deeply philosophical. Remember to look around for resources, as we will not point out every single one unless necessary. From the other side of the counter, you can enter a courtyard where you will find a Fuel Can. Right, return to the petrol station courtyard... actually, no. Run to the door through which you entered, shoot the zombie carrying the gas cylinder and then run north to escape the flames. If you are quick, you should be able to slip through the gate without much trouble.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Leon runs towards the fuel tank in the northern section of the petrol station

It will be easier to defend yourself from the zombie horde from inside this area, including those carrying chainsaws. They can only pass through the door, allowing you to use it as a bottleneck and shoot through the fence until you eliminate them all. Be extremely careful, as a chainsaw-wielding zombie tougher than concrete chewing gum will eventually appear. If you are carrying your own chainsaw, it will keep blocking your attacks until the weapon breaks. Once the area is clear, use the northern tank to obtain a Full Fuel Can. Then open the southeastern gate by filling the generator with fuel.

Now follow the street to the east, collecting resources along the way. When you reach the roadblock on the ramp, turn left as soon as possible and climb the ladder. You will see an explosive barrel—do not shoot it.

Resident Evil Requiem - BSAA Containers, position from which to shoot a gas cylinder in front of container #03

Climb down from here and you will be able to open BSAA container #03. It is the second one, but the crate is marked with a 03, so... There are three zombies inside. Back away, climb the ramp and use the gas cylinder to eliminate a couple of them. Inside the container, you will find the Marksman 1A rifle. Consider selling one of your rifles at the Supply Box, as they take up too much space.

Loot the handful of items at the eastern end of the roadblock and then activate the generator beside the crane on the western side of the street, where you knocked down the beam.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the generator in the northwestern section of the street beside the Cedarbrook Apartments

Collect a few items, including those inside the container at the top of the ladder, and continue west. After eliminating several creatures, you will be able to open a shortcut to the Central Camp. However, that is not the most important thing here. Look for the ladder descending through a hole in the northwestern section of the zombie-filled area.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, ladder leading down in the zombie-filled area north of the Central Camp

Head right, to the southeast, until you find a crate containing credits. If you look through the fence, you will see another pipe with a Mr. Raccoon visible inside the opening. Turn around and head through the other side of the tunnel. You will pass another ladder, a room containing items, a train carriage, a handful of enemies on the tracks and another train carriage containing spiders and another Mr. Raccoon.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Mr. Raccoon inside the subway carriage where spiders appear

You can reach the platform from this carriage. Proceed to the far end—watch out for the zombie—to find a chest containing items. Then climb the stairs on the opposite side, where another zombie awaits at the top, and open the southern door without going through it. Instead, follow the northern hallway, which contains more zombies, until you open another lock that allows you to return to the starting area. This will allow you to reach BSAA container #04, although you must watch out for enemies.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the BSAA container on the starting street opposite the Applegate Hotel

Once you have the key, follow the route for Mr. Raccoon #4 and Mr. Raccoon #5 to return to the starting street. Enemies will appear as you approach, so be careful. Inside, you will find the BSAA Emblem Charm and an item worth 8,600 credits.

You can now use the subway shortcut to return directly to the Central Camp after this brief detour. We are going to enter the Cedarbrook Apartments, where we found the bodies of the BSAA soldiers southwest of the Petrol Station.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the entrance to the Cedarbrook Apartments

There are resources on the ground floor, including a chest containing items. There is a window to the right of the entrance through which you can climb into a courtyard. Look upwards and you will see a hanging case. Shoot it down to obtain ammunition for the Requiem, head back inside and look for the stairs behind the main staircase, turning right where the chest containing items was located. This will allow you to open the shortcut to the alley you visited earlier.

Now climb the main staircase and follow the only available path until you reach a locked door that requires a crank handle. Head back inside the building, eliminate the zombie and drop down to the ground floor.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, broken railing on the first floor of the Cedarbrook Apartments providing another route down to the ground floor

Be extremely careful, as there is a zombie carrying a machine gun. At least it is not like the Ganados from Resident Evil 4: it will fire wildly, although it can still hit you. Blast it at point-blank range with the shotgun to keep it staggered, as it is also armoured. Be careful, as another two will drop down after you eliminate the first. Once you have dealt with them, turn the crank on the western wall to open the door and obtain the Rusted Crank Handle. We can now use it in the places where one was required.

Begin by climbing the stairs again and using the crank handle on the balcony door. Watch out for the kamikaze soldier who will appear as you climb the stairs.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, locked door with a crank mechanism on the Cedarbrook Apartments balcony

There is a hallway to your right that leads to the upper section of the area where the first soldier zombies appeared. Head southwest to find a refrigerator containing a Mr. Raccoon.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the Mr. Raccoon inside a refrigerator in the uppermost section of the Cedarbrook Apartments

If you decide to head downstairs, a zombie will get up beside a gas cylinder. Do not make the cylinder explode. Quickly eliminate the zombie and run towards it, as two soldier zombies will come downstairs and you should use the explosive to eliminate them. At the bottom, you will find ammunition and a Double Hand Grenade. Return upstairs, step onto the balcony, look west and examine this image:

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, reference image showing the location of a Mr. Raccoon on a vehicle on the motorway above the Central Camp

Look in approximately the direction indicated and you should see another Mr. Raccoon on the roof of a car on the motorway above the Central Camp. If you have difficulty hitting it, you now know where it is and can search for another vantage point offering an easier shot.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Mr. Raccoon on the roof of a car on the motorway above the Central Camp

Climb to the rooftop and prepare yourself, as you will see that someone is firing a mortar at you. Locate and eliminate the gunner directly ahead, but do not assume that you can kill the others. As you proceed towards the left, another gunner will fire at you from beyond your reach. Head through the hallway and back away when two zombies appear. The mortar fire will eliminate them, allowing you to enter the ruined building at the far end. From here, you can shoot the second gunner.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, second mortar gunner in the Cedarbrook Apartments rooftop area

Climb the stairs that appear to lead towards the mortar. You must now act precisely: open the door beside you, wait for the mortar strike, peek out to make it fire again and take cover behind the wall. Run, turn left and climb the ladder on the wall, but immediately jump back down after reaching the top to avoid the kamikaze. You can then climb up and use the mortar to clear the area, although you must prevent the enemies from reaching you.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Leon uses a mortar to clear the Cedarbrook Apartments rooftop

Make sure you search the area for resources after eliminating the enemies. If you see crates inside ruined buildings, you can destroy the rubble with the mortar. Now proceed to the antenna where the third mortar was located. You will find the Broken Signal Receiver and the Corps of Engineers Note document beside it. If you have followed this walkthrough, you will automatically repair the receiver using the Repair Kit from container #02.

Backtrack along the route you followed here, with the permission of a friendly group of zombies. Feel free to return to the Central Camp to repair your vest, purchase upgrades or do anything else you need. Before continuing, you can find another Mr. Raccoon in the front-left window of the bus before the beam leading to the Central Camp, indicated below.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the Mr. Raccoon inside the bus before the beam used as a bridge between the petrol station and the Central Camp

Now head to the Underground Garage by descending the stairs northeast of the Central Camp and taking the stairs down at the junction behind the Cedarbrook Apartments. There was a door with a crank mechanism between the Underground Garage and the Sewer Facility, and that is where you need to go.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, location of the door with a crank mechanism between the Underground Garage and the Sewer Facility

You will reach the courtyard east of Cedarbrook, where you will find two zombies and a military chest containing items. In exchange for a couple of handgun rounds, that does not seem like a bad reward. Now return to the Central Camp and use the elevator to reach the generator upstairs. Open the door and the chest containing supplies, then use the zipline to reach Willis Tower. Collect some items from the desk area and then break the boards blocking the door near the hole through which you entered so that you can open it.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, door blocked by boards inside Willis Tower

There is nothing more than a Green Herb inside, but that is still better than a kick in the head. Leave the office and climb the stairs. Heading right will take you into the remains of another office. You will see another Mr. Raccoon on a shelf.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Mr. Raccoon inside the remains of an office on an upper floor of Willis Tower

There is a container of Gunpowder (Large) at the far end. Turn around and take the other path beyond the stairs. Follow the only available route, climb a ramp and break more boards to continue upwards. After crossing the beam, break the crate to obtain ammunition, look left and break another set of boards so that you can jump across. Turn left and look upwards to break the boards blocking another door. This will allow you to descend through some rubble to another boarded-up door. Break through it and continue.

After opening the elevator doors and climbing down, you will find yourself on a slope with the elevator cars above you, which does not look good at all.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, elevator cars inside the Willis Tower elevator shaft

As you begin climbing, one of the cars will fall. Stand on the opposite side and, once it has passed you, move in the other direction to avoid the second one. Once you reach the top, turn right, descend the slope and be careful because the floor is made of glass and will break after two shots. If you are standing on a panel—or destroying one would leave you without a path forward—the panel beneath you will also collapse and kill you. However, you can use this to send enemies plummeting to their deaths.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, glass floor inside Willis Tower

There is a zombie with a red light in one corner, indicating that it is a kamikaze. If it dies, almost the entire floor will collapse, so be careful. From the first zombie, turn right and break the glass beneath the cabinet.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, cabinet that must fall through the glass to create a ramp

This will cause the structure to collapse and create a ramp you can climb, allowing you to avoid the deadly glass floor below and throw a grenade at the base of the ramp to clear the area. Be careful, as there are more zombies upstairs on the opposite side of the ramp. A couple are carrying explosives, while another has a machine gun and is standing on a ledge. Another armed zombie will emerge from the area where the kamikaze came from. Afterwards, follow their route to a rooftop. Go through the fence to collect several items and the Relay.

Destroy the gate

Go through the door at the far end to reach a safe room containing a computer and Supply Box. Afterwards, leave and cross the walkway to the adjacent building. Enter, make your way through the hallway and shoot the ladder on your left when you emerge onto the rooftop again.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, ladder that can be lowered with a single shot on the roof of the Grimstone Building

There is a military crate at the top. If you look upwards and to the right, you will see a container hanging from a crane. Shoot the hook to make it fall. Climb down and follow the walkway west. From the bridge where you can use the binoculars, you can eliminate three zombies with the rifle. You will have to cross the building—which is naturally infested with zombies—to reach the rooftop. You can use the crate you knocked down to climb to the final section and descend the slope on the left to reach a crank.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, crank that lowers one side of the suspended platform on the roof of the Grimstone Building

Now cross the walkway to the adjacent building and head left to open a shortcut to the safe room. Afterwards, turn around and head right. Drop from the ledge, crouch and note that more zombies are waiting.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, zombies in the second section of the Grimstone Building rooftop

Be extremely careful in this area, as another armoured zombie with a chainsaw will appear, along with more than one Mutant Head. Once you reach the very top, collect all the items, turn the crank and descend on the suspended platform. As it descends, you will have to eliminate zombies until a cutscene begins. Once it ends, do not waste a second: run towards the explosive barrel, turn right, climb the slope on the left and reach the exit. This will prevent you from wasting a huge amount of ammunition on the zombies.

Make one final visit to the Central Camp and save your game manually. Assemble the bomb, place it on the gate and prepare yourself.

Head to central Raccoon City

You will have to make your way along the road. At a certain point, a cutscene will begin and you will have to shoot the enemies chasing you. You have unlimited ammunition, so do not worry about your aim.

Resident Evil Requiem - East Raccoon City, Leon shoots at mutant dogs while driving along the motorway

Do not worry about driving either, as that part is automatic. When a character riding a motorcycle appears later, make sure you shoot them to unlock the Aggressive Driving achievement/trophy. Things will continue in the same way for a while: shoot the enemies, shoot barrels to destroy obstacles, shoot the motorcyclist... and when you reach the end, you will know what to do without any explanation. After the cutscenes, you will arrive in Central Raccoon City.
