Ramón Salazar: How to defeat him and strategies

First, locate the staircase at one end of the arena that leads to the upper level. You will use this structure as cover throughout the battle, as it can block ranged attacks and force Salazar to move around it. To defeat Salazar, it is essential to understand his attacks:

  • Bombardment: Salazar moves across the ceiling while dropping blobs of black fluid. You will take damage if one lands on you. The blobs remain on the ground until you touch or shoot them, or until enough time passes for them to explode. The explosions also deal damage.
  • Black fluid stream: from medium or long range, he quickly opens his mouth and sprays a stream of black fluid either from bottom to top or from side to side. Avoid the vertical stream by running sideways and the horizontal stream by crouching. Obstacles can block both attacks.
  • Spit: when he opens his mouth and begins charging the attack, releasing a vapour-like substance, he will fire a fast projectile directly ahead. The attack does not track you, so you can avoid it by hiding behind an obstacle or running sideways.
  • Bite: if you see him preparing to lunge, he is about to leap towards you. This attack will generally kill you instantly.
  • Black fluid stream and spit: during the second phase, after Salazar screams, every stream attack will be immediately followed by a spit attack without him changing position.
  • Moving stream: during the second phase, Salazar moves around while spraying black fluid directly at the ground. It is unlikely to hit you.

The key is to wait for him to use the black fluid stream and avoid it either by taking cover behind an obstacle or simply dodging it. Salazar takes several seconds to recover, giving you an opportunity to shoot his pale body, which is the creature's weak point. If you hit him with a grenade, it will explode immediately, so use any spares you may have.

Remember that Ramón is only one of the many monsters in the game. Defeating him should be relatively straightforward with any of Leon's many available weapons.
