Among the many enemies in Resident Evil 4 Remake are several that serve as area bosses. There are only a few of them, and their unique battles force you to fight under specific conditions. In this section of the guide, we will help you defeat Osmund Saddler, the boss encountered in Chapter 16.
First of all: buy a Rocket Launcher and kill him with a single shot. Seriously, this battle is more tedious and irritating than difficult. All of Saddler's attacks are extremely obvious, easy to avoid and sometimes even trigger Evade prompts, so... Your objective is to destroy the eyes on his legs and then attack the eye inside his mouth, which is his weak point. You can target the eye in his mouth directly, but it constantly moves around and is difficult to hit.
After taking enough damage, Saddler retreats to a nearby tower and summons a swarm of Novistadors, making the battle even more unbearable. If you do not eliminate them, they will distract you long enough for Saddler to tear you apart. Several explosive barrels are scattered around the arena, and you can use them against him. Oh, and if the battle lasts too long, he will begin destroying the floor. Seriously, just buy the damned Rocket Launcher. After dealing enough damage—or blasting him in the face with a rocket—he will enter the final phase.
You must now shoot the central eye while avoiding the vertical tentacle attack by moving sideways and the horizontal one by pressing the Evade button. After firing at the eye for a while, you will receive a special Rocket Launcher with which to eliminate Saddler once and for all.
Remember that Saddler is only one of the many monsters in the game. Defeating him should be relatively straightforward with any of Leon's many available weapons.
