One of the collectibles you’ll come across in several areas of Resident Evil 4 Remake is the Small Key. These items allow you to open locked drawers, but each key can only be used once. Since these drawers contain some of the treasures in the game, we’ll show you where to find every Small Key and locked drawer.
These are the locations of all the Small Keys and locked drawers, listed in the order you’ll come across them while progressing through the Village section of the story. We recommend using each key on the nearest drawer.
This drawer is in the Village Square, inside the house in the middle of the northern side. It contains a Vintage Compass.
You’ll find this drawer inside the house at the Lakeside Settlement, on the northwestern shore of the Lake. It contains a Gold Bar.
This drawer is in the Abandoned Factory, inside the central room. It contains an Elegant Mask.
You’ll find this key during Chapter 2, in the Valley. Check the ground floor of the building with the Hexagonal Emblem on its roof to find it.
You’ll find this key during Chapter 2. It’s inside the Village Chief’s Manor, in the southwestern corner of the ground floor.
This drawer is beneath the Church, inside the safe room in the alley southwest of the main building. It contains a Yellow Diamond.
This drawer is in the Merchant’s dock area at the Quarry. It contains a Brass Pocket Watch.
You’ll find this key during Chapter 3. It’s at the western end of the Fish Farm. Check the drawer inside the small shed next to the building containing the Boat Fuel.
You’ll find this key during Chapter 4. You need to make your way to the Forest Altar. Head to the northwestern shore of the Lake and travel to the Lakeside Settlement. Once there, go through the northern gate, which can be unlocked with the Insignia Key. Climb the stairs and look for the key on the cart to the west.
You’ll find this key during Chapter 4. It will be next to the Church altar.

This drawer is in the Audience Chamber, in the western part of the Castle. It contains a Gold Bar.
This drawer is in the Bindery. It contains a Brass Pocket Watch.
This key can be obtained during Chapter 8. It’s in the hallway northwest of the Bindery.
The final locked drawer is on the Castle Battlements, inside the southeasternmost tower. It contains an Ornate Beetle.
This key can be obtained during Chapter 9. It’s in the northwestern room on the upper floor of the Grand Hall.
This key can be obtained during Chapter 12. You’ll find it inside a briefcase next to the cable car leading to the Clock Tower, just after coming up in the elevator.
