After Jill wakes up in the Hospital, the last remaining S.T.A.R.S. member in the city decides to follow Nicholai. He is clearly planning something, although we don't yet know exactly what. One of the building's doors leads to a suspiciously high-tech facility, so we are going to investigate it.
Following the previous section, we begin inside a safe room. Collect the final Hip Pouch from the table.
You will find the Elevator Notice beside the typewriter. Open the double doors and follow the walkway to see "something," then collect the Explosive A. Drop down into the lower area. Use the elevator beneath the character you just saw and something will happen.
You can watch the entire route in the video above, although bear in mind that it doesn't show the item locations. We need to find three Fuses inside the Underground Storage. Use the hydraulic lift at the far end, watching out for the zombie that falls from above, to find the first Fuse. There are also some wooden crates to your right. Once you have it, climb down the ladder beside the Fuse. Be careful because two dogs will attack you. There is a small area to your right containing Handgun Ammo. Continue south-southeast, go around the next platform, kill the zombie, and squeeze between the shelves. Immediately afterward, look at the shelves on the right to find a Mr. Charlie.
Now lower the hydraulic lift. You can walk across it to reach a case immediately behind it containing the Shell Holder (Shotgun). Raise the platform again, collect the Handgun Ammo, and cross the walkway heading west. You will need to raise another platform to cross and then climb down the ladder after collecting the High-Grade Gunpowder.
Now, be careful because you need to move very quickly. As you approach the Fuse, the nearby metal container will open and a large group of zombies will emerge. Quickly collect the second Fuse and retreat. When you do, a Hunter Gamma will appear, so run to the ladder and it won't be able to reach you. If you decide to kill everything, the container holding the zombies contains High-Grade Gunpowder and Gunpowder x2, while the container the Hunter Gamma emerged from contains a Green Herb.
Cross the walkway again and open the door to the east. You will find three zombies and the Employee Memo. Collect the Shotgun Shells, unlock the door leading to the safe room, and go left. You will find a ladder leading to the third Fuse, which is guarded by a Hunter. There is also some Gunpowder in the same hallway. Backtrack and return to the safe room. Take out a Hand Grenade if you want to make sure you don't take any damage during the next section. Three tentacle zombies will appear as you approach the fuse box. Throw the Hand Grenade, quickly approach before they get back up, and finish all three with the Shotgun. Then insert the Fuses and use the elevator.
You will find yourself inside another safe room. Go to the southwestern corner behind the console to find a case containing the Extended Barrel (MAG). Organize your inventory if necessary. Examine the illuminated console screen to read the Unfinished Activity Log.
After the cutscene, follow your partner. You will soon see something extremely disturbing before arriving at NEST 2.
