After getting the subway running in Downtown, a little mishap has sent us into the Sewers. Because, of course, everyone knows that entering the Sewers during a zombie apocalypse while a giant monster is chasing you is the best idea in the world. Oh well. It would have been so easy to just lower the damn gate and get on the train. Don't worry, we'll give you a hand. Figuratively speaking. Nemesis is the one trying to get his literal hands on you.

Find a way above ground

Enter the safe room. You will find Handgun Ammo and Shotgun Shells inside the lockers. There is a Red Herb on the table and the Sewer Map is hanging on the board. We recommend taking out the Shotgun and some ammunition. You'll understand why soon enough. Follow the only available path to find a locked door. The Increased Sewer Security document is beside it. Backtrack slightly and go down the stairs into the channel, then slide down the slope.

Collect the Hand Grenade just beyond the ladder on your right. Continue straight ahead and the first Hunter Gamma will emerge shortly after you enter the tunnel. Take out the Shotgun and remain calm. The creature is slower than it looks. Wait for it to open its mouth and blast it in the throat. It will take between four and five Shotgun blasts to kill it.

Continue straight after killing the monster, go up the stairs, and enter another safe room. You will find Explosive B on a barrel, the Research Assistant's Logs on a table, the Invoice from Gun Shop Kendo a little farther inside, and the MGL Grenade Launcher beside it. Pay attention: keep the Explosive B in your inventory, leave the Knife in the item box if you are carrying it, and take out the Lock Pick if you don't already have it. Make sure you have at least one empty inventory slot. Return to the intersection and turn left. Don't climb the ladder, as it leads to a dead end. Another Hunter Gamma will block your path, but a single Grenade Launcher shot into its mouth will be enough to kill it.

At the intersection, go left toward the room marked "Laboratory." Another creature will appear, so repeat the same process. Continue while watching the right-hand side to find some Flame Rounds on a raised ledge. Once inside the Laboratory, collect the Battery Pack in front of you and the A Love Letter? document from a table near the lockers. Now open the padlocked locker. Inside, you will find Explosive A, which you should combine with Explosive B to create Flame Rounds for your weapon.

The other locker contains Gunpowder, while there is a Green Herb beside the table. You will also find High-Grade Gunpowder inside an open cabinet in the corner. Leave the Laboratory, go down the ladder, and look to your right to find a Mr. Charlie.

Obviously, we are carrying too much. Return to the safe room, killing another Hunter Gamma along the way, and store the Gunpowder and Green Herb if you don't need them. Keep the Battery Pack, Grenade Launcher, and Handgun in case of an emergency. Turn around. If you remember, we ignored the other path at the intersection before reaching the Laboratory, the one behind a waterfall of... sewage. You will find a crate containing Gunpowder, some Shotgun Shells, and the Sewer Worker's Notes.

Return to the point where you slid down and climb the ladder. Watch out, as another Hunter Gamma will appear just before you reach it. Once at the top, use the Battery Pack to open the door and kill yet another damn overgrown frog.

Go around the walkway to the left and open the gate. You can now retrieve the Battery Pack and place it beside the Security Room door. Inside, you will find Gunpowder, Explosive A, and a Hip Pouch. Leave the room, retrieve the Battery Pack, and lower the ladder at the far end. Then place the Battery Pack beside the final door. Honestly, returning to the item box to store anything you don't need before moving forward isn't the worst idea in the world. In theory, you won't need the Grenade Launcher anymore—just kidding, don't store it—but take the Handgun, ammunition, a healing item, and perhaps a few Hand Grenades.

Immediately after going through the door and climbing the stairs, turn around. You will see another Mr. Charlie above the stairs.

Continue along the path and up the stairs to trigger a cutscene.

Escape the creature

Run. And don't start acting like, "Oh my God, somebody save me, I've twisted my ankle and the monster is trying to kill me." No, RUN. You will need to dodge a couple of zombies and pass beneath a metal shutter that Jill will automatically lower.

The door in front of you leads to a safe room. Inside, you will find a Green Herb and Explosive A. You can combine the two Explosive A items you are carrying to create Explosive Rounds, which will certainly come in handy. The two Flame Rounds you should have left and these three Explosive Rounds will keep you going. Climb the stairs. If you move quickly, you can get past the zombies and continue upward. Go up another floor and knock down the boards to cross without looking back. Climb the ladder. Things are getting interesting. Keep climbing and don't stop!

You will eventually reach an item box and a typewriter. We continued with the Grenade Launcher loaded with three Explosive Rounds and the Handgun. You will find the Demolition Delay notice beside the typewriter. Continue climbing until you reach the rooftop.

Defeat the creature

Resident Evil 3 Remake - Sewers and Demolition Site: Nemesis with the flamethrower

Start by searching around the perimeter. On one side is a case containing a Green Herb, with a Red Herb beside it. There is another Green Herb behind the pallets. From there, look toward the corner to find a case containing Explosive Rounds. Near the other pile of pallets and crates, you will find Handgun Ammo, more Explosive Rounds, and a generator. The strategy is obvious: lure Nemesis toward the generator, shoot it once with the Handgun, and while he is stunned, fire one or two Explosive Rounds at the fuel tank on his back. If you remain behind the crates, his flames won't reach you.

After dealing enough damage to the tank—two direct hits—Nemesis will begin moving faster and shooting flames into the air. Hiding will no longer work, so you will have to keep moving. Wait for the generator to recharge, which happens when its indicator turns green, and repeat the process. Above all, don't panic: there will always be a route that allows you to avoid the flames. On Standard difficulty, the fuel tank can withstand six direct hits from Explosive Rounds, but Nemesis will still get back up. Repeat the process: dodge him, electrocute him, and fire an Explosive Round into his chest. If you simply circle the generator enclosure, he will have trouble reaching you. You will need to hit him with another three Explosive Rounds to bring him down, so you should be able to afford a single missed shot.

Return to the subway station

We survived. Continue between the cars and collect the Handgun Ammo from the hood of the car before the fire truck. Climb onto the truck, cross the ladder, and go down the ramp on your right. Beyond the police car is a case containing High-Grade Gunpowder. You don't need to kill the zombies, as the area is large enough to avoid them. Continue until you reach Gun Shop Kendo and go inside.

Resident Evil 3 Remake - Sewers and Demolition Site: Gun Shop Kendo

Inside, you will find the Semi-Auto Barrel (Shotgun), Handgun Ammo, a Green Herb, Explosive B, Explosive A, and a container of Gunpowder. Go to the back of the store to trigger a cutscene. Reorganize your inventory using the item box, as you probably have a ton and a half of Gunpowder by now. Take Kendo's Gate Key from the key cabinet. You should take the Shotgun with you, but you won't need any spare ammunition. Use the new key to open the alley door outside the store and be careful: the zombie beside the Red Herb will get up, while a tentacle zombie will approach from the far end. You could try luring them outside to avoid using the Shotgun.

If you haven't already destroyed the red barrel, you can use it against them. It won't kill the tentacle zombie, but it will give you time to escape. If you have already destroyed it, you will at least have enough room to lead them around the entire area and delay them from reaching you. Cross the alley and go through the door. You will see a Mr. Charlie as soon as you enter.

Ready the Shotgun, as a tentacle zombie will appear when you cross to the other side of the ground floor. Yes, we made you bring the weapon solely for this enemy, because there is nowhere to escape and nothing in the environment that you can use against it. Two shots should be enough. Go upstairs and open the locked case to obtain Explosive Rounds. You can read the Raccoon Times Reader's Column on the bed. Leave through the front door and continue until...

Escape the creature

Once again, RUN. No further explanation is necessary. Don't worry, don't look back, and even though everything suggests otherwise, Nemesis won't kill you instantly. Just get out of there. Be careful when you pass the first zombie, as Nemesis will catch up with you at that moment, so prepare to dodge. You will see that you cannot reach the Garage and must run toward the substation.

Resident Evil 3 Remake - Sewers and Demolition Site: Jill talks to Carlos over the radio

After speaking to Carlos, keep running, even though it looks like you are heading into a dead end, and another cutscene will begin. When it ends, break the nearby crate to obtain a First Aid Spray, which may be useful after that nasty fall. Then climb the scaffolding until you reach the rooftop of the warehouse containing the safe, remember? Go down the stairs on the right to reach the front of Moon's Donuts. Another cutscene will begin as you climb the stairs. Run back down toward the stairs you used to reach this area. Nemesis will appear immediately after the destruction. He cannot be knocked down right now, so simply dodge the rockets and run through the alley toward the station.

Go to the subway platform

After yet another failed attempt to get rid of the creature, go down into the station to trigger a cutscene. When it ends, it will be time to explore the Police Station.
