The main enemies in Resident Evil 3 Remake are zombies and, of course, Nemesis. Knowing how to deal with each one will be essential if you intend to survive their attacks. This guide will show you every enemy in the game and the best way to defeat each one. Bear in mind, however, that we won't discuss Nemesis here. For that, we have a dedicated guide explaining Nemesis and how to defeat him in every phase.

Bear in mind that on the highest difficulty settings, enemies such as NE-α Parasites, Lickers, and Pale Heads appear at different points in the game than they do on Standard difficulty.

NOTE: The best advice against all these enemies is simple: if you want to save ammunition, a single grenade is often the solution.

Zombies

Resident Evil 3 Remake - Zombie

The classic zombie we all know. This time, you won't be able to blow off their legs as easily as you could in Resident Evil 2 Remake, so your best option is always to aim for the head. A couple of shots from a standard Handgun should knock them to the ground. Bear in mind that a fallen zombie isn't necessarily a dead zombie, and getting too close may result in a nasty surprise. If you are carrying the Knife, stab it a few times to make sure it is dead. Obviously, a headshot from a weapon such as the Shotgun will kill it instantly. You also have nothing to worry about if you land a critical hit with any weapon and its head explodes.

Zombie Dogs

These are Dobermans infected with the T-virus. They only appear twice throughout the entire game, and both times you will encounter them in pairs. Their main advantage is their speed, but two or three Handgun shots will bring them down. Be careful, as they are small targets and can be easy to miss if you aren't paying attention.

Drain Deimos

Resident Evil 3 Remake - Drain Deimos

A thoroughly disgusting spider-like creature that, fortunately, only appears inside the substation. It has two attacks, one of which involves grabbing you and inflicting the Parasite status effect, which can be cured by using a Green Herb. If you don't cure it, the parasite will gradually drain your health until you die when a mass of parasites bursts from your chest—not a pleasant way to go. Drain Deimos die after two or three Handgun shots or a single Shotgun blast, making them extremely fragile.

NE-α Parasites

Resident Evil 3 Remake - NE-α Parasite

These are zombies directly infected by Nemesis. They appear at very specific points in the adventure and are extremely dangerous because the tentacle protruding from their heads can strike from a considerable distance. To kill them, you need to shoot between their "jaws" or hit the glowing orange areas on their backs. Their jaws are normally closed, but they will open after you shoot the zombie a couple of times. Bear in mind that the zombie is merely a host for the parasite. To kill it, you need to shoot the fleshy mass rather than the zombie itself.

Hunter Gammas

Resident Evil 3 Remake - Hunter Gamma

A B.O.W. created through experiments involving frogs in toxic environments. It will kill you instantly if it catches you with its mouth open, but this is also your opportunity to defeat it. A single Grenade Launcher round will kill it instantly, while a Shotgun blast will make it close its enormous mouth and recoil. Several shots to the head will also cause it to lose its balance, but this is a waste of ammunition. Fortunately, Hunter Gammas are uncommon and extremely slow.

Lickers

Resident Evil 3 Remake - Licker

A by-product of a zombie infected with the G-virus. The first thing you need to know is that Lickers are blind. If you walk instead of running, they won't detect you unless you get too close or shoot them. They are extremely fast and can move across floors, walls, and ceilings. They can also attack from a distance with their tongues or leap considerable distances to reach you. Although the exposed brain is their obvious weak point, hitting it can be difficult. Throwing a Flash Grenade will stun the creature for several seconds, giving you an opportunity to kill it or escape.

Hunter Betas

Resident Evil 3 Remake - Hunter Beta

The terrifying MA-121. It is extremely fast and deadly. Pay close attention to its left claw: if it pulls the claw back and crouches, it is preparing an attack that will kill you instantly. It uses its other claw to perform extremely fast attacks, although it must get very close to hit you. The main problem when attacking is that it sidesteps as soon as it takes damage, so try to fire only one or two shots at a time. Shooting it in the forehead will break its protective shell and expose its brain, which is the creature's weak point. Acid Rounds can kill Hunter Betas with a single hit. Avoid using Flame Rounds: although they can still kill them, they are extremely inefficient.

Pale Heads

Resident Evil 3 Remake - Pale Head

A Pale Head is essentially a zombie with regenerative abilities. The key is to keep dealing damage until it is completely destroyed, as it poses no greater threat than a normal zombie. You will know it is still alive because it releases white vapor while regenerating.
