Throughout Resident Evil 3 Remake, you’ll come across several safes containing hidden rewards. You won’t be able to open them until you find clues to their combinations somewhere in the game.
Once you know the code, open the safe by turning the dial in the indicated direction until you reach the correct number, then turning it in the next direction without pressing the confirm button. You should only press confirm after reaching the final number. If you make a mistake, the dial will spin and you’ll have to enter the entire combination again. Unlike in Resident Evil 2 Remake, there aren’t many safes to find this time around. There are also two combination lockers, but we’ve covered those in our guide to locks and lockers.
The safes are easy to open: each one uses a three-number combination (except the last safe, which only uses two). Use the D-pad or push the analog stick in the direction shown until you reach the first number, then turn it in the indicated direction until you reach the second. Finally, move it to the third number and press confirm to open the safe.
With that out of the way, here are all the safes in Resident Evil 3 Remake, along with the combinations needed to open them.
Redstone Street Storeroom safe
Combination: Left 9, right 3, left 7. If you’re playing version 1.00, the combination is left 9, right 1, left 8. Simply use the D-pad to turn the dial left and right until you reach the indicated numbers. Press confirm once you reach the last number.
Where is it?: You’ll pass this safe if you climb the fire escape opposite the pharmacy, in the back alley behind Moon’s Donuts.
Reward: You’ll get the Dot Sight (Handgun).
Police Station West Office safe
Combination: Left 9, right 15, left 7. Simply use the D-pad to turn the dial left and right until you reach the indicated numbers. Press confirm once you reach the last number.
When will you find it?: While exploring the Police Station as Carlos.
Where is it?: It’s on the ground floor, on the west side of the building. This is exactly the same safe that appears in Resident Evil 2 Remake. In fact, it even uses the same combination.
Reward: You’ll get a Hip Pouch, increasing your inventory space.
Hospital Nurses’ Station safe
Combination: Left 9, right 3. Simply use the D-pad to turn the dial left and right until you reach the indicated numbers. Press confirm once you reach the last number.
When will you find it?: While exploring the Hospital as Carlos.
Where is it?: It’s inside the Nurses’ Station on the second floor.
Reward: You’ll get the Dual Magazine (Assault Rifle).
