The Lymbic Forge is the eleventh area we recommend completing during Act II of Hell is Us, after obtaining the Keystone of Rage in the Auriga Museum. Although you’re completely free to search for the Lymbic Forge Keystones in any order, several collectibles can be missed once certain events are set in motion. It’s therefore best to follow a specific order so you don’t ruin that coveted 100% completion.
The first thing to bear in mind before continuing is that you should have followed our story walkthrough to make sure everything goes according to plan. You should have completed every Good Deed and spoken to every character, although you’ll still have some Mysteries left to complete and won’t have closed every Timeloop yet.
Several events will only occur if you’ve fulfilled a number of requirements... which we’ve been taking care of throughout the walkthrough.
Travel to Lake Cynon. If you’ve followed the walkthrough up to this point, the Ever After achievement or trophy should unlock during the cutscene. Once you reach the lake, head to the northeastern side of the reservoir, towards the building in the distance. Beside its outer wall, you’ll find the Bottle of Mead – Full.
If you go around the house, you’ll find Rebecca beside the dog and the entrance to a shed. Inside, you’ll find the Key – Rustic, which activates the Safekeeping Mystery.
Go down the stairs beside the reservoir and begin making your way through the tunnel. Continue until you reach the door before the dam machinery, where the waterfalls used to be and where you lowered the water level. You need to go through the northern door in this room.
As soon as you go through it, climb the stairs on your left to find a Lymbic door that can be opened using the Ecstasy rods from the Blackmailed Mystery. This completes the Mystery and, more importantly, the final Lake Cynon Timeloop Guardian is waiting behind it. Make sure you remember this and loot the room to find the Recoil – Enhanced Glyph, a pair of Twin Axes of Rage and the Bowl of Ash.
Now descend through the dam area until you reach the bottom. Before moving on, we obviously want to close the Timeloop in this area. Once you reach the bottom, follow the tunnel to the elevator to reach the Lymbic Forge Timeloop. You can close it using an Amine Prism – Zeta.
After closing it, you’ll be able to collect the Bronze Cup.
Head back up and make your way to the Lymbic Forge, east of the dam gears, but don’t insert the Keystones yet. Halfway there, look north to spot a waterfall between two waterwheels.
Behind the waterfall, you’ll find the Lymbic Chest from the Lymbic Forge, Waterfall Mystery. It contains consumables and the Delirium – Enhanced Glyph. Now insert the Lymbic Keystones into the pedestals of the corresponding colours to begin Act III.
