While exploring Hadea, the region where Hell is Us takes place, you'll find several weapons you can use against the creatures that have infested the land. Each one works differently, with its own combos, stats and features. This section of the guide explains how to obtain and upgrade them, but you'll have to try them out for yourself to discover which one best suits your playstyle. Remember that you can equip two different weapons and quickly switch between them at any time.
Bear in mind that we only list the locations of the basic "non-elemental" versions of each weapon here. Throughout the game, either as items you can pick up—which are included in the guide's story walkthrough—or as rewards, you can obtain several Ecstasy, Grief, Rage and Terror variants, just like the ones you can craft by upgrading weapons yourself. The ones you find as loot are identical to the ones you can craft, so don't drive yourself crazy trying to find them all.
To upgrade weapons, you must wait until you have searched Vitalis' warehouse as part of the main objectives in the Acasa Marshes. When you leave Vitalis' house, you'll see that Victor has opened his forge opposite Vitalis' house, on the northern side of Jova.
Once inside, you can select the Craft option when speaking to him to upgrade your weapons. This allows you to increase a weapon's Grade, improving its effectiveness and maximum level, by consuming Lymbic Shards. Once you have upgraded a weapon to Grade 2, you'll be able to equip Glyphs. Make sure you craft one weapon for each Lymbic Sphere: Terror, Ecstasy, Rage and Grief.
Victor's ability to craft and upgrade items can be improved using Crafting Tomes. Each one unlocks different upgrades, and you must give them to the blacksmith for him to study:
