Good Deeds are a type of side activity you can complete in Hell is Us. They generally involve doing special favours for certain characters (NPCs). Each one counts as a completed Good Deed, and you can later exchange these invisible points by finding the right merchant. Bear in mind that some characters disappear once you reach certain points in the story, meaning that some Good Deeds are also missable.
Completing Good Deeds will earn you rewards once you meet Gildas Brom at the Watcher’s Nest in the Vyssa Hills.
Whenever you complete a Good Deed, you can return and speak to him about Good Deeds to gradually receive the following items:
This Good Deed can be completed in Senedra Forest. You’ll find the Gold Watch in the trench beyond the prison. Continue to the first junction and look to the right to see a yellow glow, where you can collect a letter and the watch.
This item must be given to Ernest Caddell in Senedra Forest. You’ll need to return almost all the way to the game’s starting area to hand it over.
This Good Deed is completed in the Acasa Marshes. Head to the village of Jova and climb the stairs to the left of Captain Vaas, which lead up to the village square. Look for the building with the "death to all Sabs!" graffiti.
Climb the crates on the right to reach the ground-floor roof, then jump down behind the house. Once there, head up the slope on your right and look left to see the glowing Sheet Music - Our Pride in the Jova Java courtyard.
You can hand it over by trading with the violinist sitting on a truck just behind Captain Vaas. However, he’ll tell you that he could use another piece of sheet music. To find it, you must reach the Vyssa Hills. Once there, head to the Grieving Knight statue, the large statue near the arrival point, and climb the southeastern hill to find Sheet Music - Losilus Dreaming.
Return to Jova and hand over the second piece of sheet music to complete the quest.
This Good Deed is completed in the Acasa Marshes. Starting from where you collected Sheet Music - Our Pride during the previous Good Deed—the ladder to the left of Vaas, across the roof of the graffiti-covered building and into the back garden, then up the slope on the right—head straight towards the enemies, turn right and continue straight ahead to a ladder. After dropping down on the other side of the wall, turn right and continue straight to a courtyard, where you’ll see the glowing Letter - Worried Wife beside the house’s door.
This letter must be given to the man beside the excavator that you pass near the starting area, where your APC is parked.
You’ll begin this Good Deed in the Acasa Marshes. Head to the village of Jova and make your way to the southwestern area by continuing straight ahead from Vaas’s position and then turning left. You should soon see a house with two pieces of white graffiti and a save point in its courtyard.
Go around the right-hand side of the house to find some stairs leading down to the basement. There’s a ladder leading into a tunnel. Climb down and turn right at the junction. You’ll soon reach a room containing a baby and the Baby Bottles - Empty in one corner.
You must give these bottles to Ernest Caddell in Senedra Forest to receive the Baby Bottles - Filled. Take them back to the baby’s mother to complete the Good Deed.
You can activate this Good Deed in the Acasa Marshes. If you’re following our guide, you’ll do so while exploring the area around Jova. Look north from the Timeloop’s black dome, east-southeast of Jova, to see a tree with several bodies hanging from it.
Climb the hill to find the Bloodied Plushie beneath the bodies. To complete the Good Deed, head to the house in southwestern Jova, the one with an entrance to the tunnels on the right-hand side of its courtyard.
Enter the ground floor to find a drunk man and give him the plushie. He’ll reward you with a Classroom Picture. Now head to northern Jova and look to the right of Abbot Jaffer. You should see a house with an open door.
Go inside and give the picture to the woman in the kitchen to complete the Good Deed.
You’ll begin this Good Deed in the village of Jova while investigating Vitalis’s house in the Acasa Marshes. You must enter the house on Jova’s northern street, the one with the blue swing, as part of the main objectives.
Once inside—you’ll first need to obtain the key from Victor Gaz—turn right twice to reach the balcony and collect the Keys - Car from the table. Now head east of Jova and north of the hanging tree, as though you were going towards the large ruins to the north. On the right-hand side of one of the bridges used to cross the marsh, you’ll see a car stranded on the bank that can be opened with the keys.
Inside, you’ll find the Recording - Vitalis’s Departure, the Necklace, a pair of Lymbic Twin Axes, the Chromatic Shield Glyph and the Lymbic Forge Tome - Imbuing. To complete the Good Deed, you must give the Necklace to Victor.
You can begin this Good Deed in the Vyssa Hills while searching for the journalist. From the grave where you begin after the cutscene following the Grieving Knight statue—if you’re lost, the grave is up the hill north of the statue—look west to see the dome of a Timeloop.
Head in that direction and turn right to climb the first hill you come across. After walking a short distance, look to the right, behind the cracked rocks, to find the glowing Pill Bottle - Atenolol. The quest begins as soon as you pick it up. From this point, head towards the Timeloop’s black dome and look to its right to see an uphill path.
Follow this path for a while to eventually reach a camp filled with people. One of them is Diana Kos. Give her the pills to complete the Good Deed.
This Good Deed begins in the Vyssa Hills, after completing the region’s Timeloop. As soon as it disappears, you’ll see the Keys - ON Vehicle on the ground.
This Good Deed is completed by speaking to Atticus, but you should avoid doing so for now. Completing it immediately will lock you out of two Good Deeds: Death’s Door and Man’s Best Friend. You can give him the keys once you’ve completed both of them. From the APC, climb the ladder to the west to find him.
This Good Deed is activated in the Acasa Marshes, but you must progress through the Vyssa Hills until you’re close to completing the area’s main objective and Tania is inside the APC. Once this happens, head to the ON convoy tunnel east of Jova, where you first found Victor. Take the road east of the Timeloop and continue north until you see the tunnel on your right.
Defeat the enemies inside the tunnel and collect the Photograph - Girl at the far end to begin the quest. You must now return to the ON Outpost in Jova. It’s the building with "ON" written on its roof, to the right of the forge, so it’s hard to miss.
Approach the building and speak to Lieutenant Zao Ru, who’ll be in the courtyard on the right. Give her the photograph to complete the Good Deed.
You can begin this Good Deed once the AAF soldiers have left Jova, the village in the Acasa Marshes, while tying up loose ends at the beginning of Act II. Head to the village and find the square west of where Captain Vaas was stationed, up the stairs west of the military checkpoint tent. Turn the camera and you should soon spot a doghouse beside one of the buildings.
Approach and interact with the animal to obtain the Dog Collar, activating the quest. Now travel to the Vyssa Hills and look for the refugee camp. Head north from the APC to the area where the Timeloop was located, then northwest up the hill to the right of the sealed stone door.
Once there, find Alban Vosh and give him the collar to complete the quest.
This four-part quest is activated in front of the town hall in Talju. Head directly west from the APC to find the building’s entrance. You’ll see the glowing Signal Flares just outside the door.
To complete this Good Deed, you must find four specific characters and give each one a flare. From the town hall entrance, follow the street south and then east until you see the glow of two consumables, one on a crate beside the road and the other down the stairs on a small pier.
Go around the back of the house on your left and cross the ramp, allowing you to use a ladder to reach the upper floor. You’ll find the first NPC who needs a flare in the hallway beside the bedroom.
The second NPC is inside the Vanderlyn building. From the pharmacy junction—the intersection with a tank beyond the stone archway leading to the APC—head west until you reach the end of the road. The Vanderlyn building will be to the south-southeast.
You can open a gate in the courtyard and then climb the stairs to the upper floor. Behind the locked door in the hallway, you’ll find Charlotte Topam, the recipient of this flare. Another NPC who needs one is Boro, at the petrol station near the APC. The fourth character is north of the Vanderlyn building. Follow the street until you see a barn on your left.
The character is on the upper floor of the barn, which you can reach using the ladder. You must now continue through the story for the Good Deed to be completed a little later.
This Good Deed begins in Talju. You must reach the Vanderlyn building by heading west from the pharmacy junction—the intersection with a tank beyond the stone archway leading to the APC—until you reach the end of the road. The Vanderlyn building will be to the south-southeast.
Enter the courtyard and open the gate, then climb the stairs to the upper floor. At the end of the hallway, on your left, you’ll see a glowing item. These are the Symbol - Flame and Map - Senedra Mountains, which activate the quest. To complete it, head to Senedra Forest, climb the hill beside the APC, then turn right followed by left at the junction where one path descends the hill and the other continues right towards Arcas Spire.
When you reach the bottom of the hill, look to your left, towards the southwest, to see a tunnel leading into the trench. You’ll find a door where the Symbol - Flame can be used and a woman who needs the Map - Senedra Mountains. Give it to her to complete the Good Deed.
This Good Deed begins in the pharmacy in Talju. First, you need the Keys - Pharmacy. Head west from the town hall along the path beside the slope, then turn left and collect them in front of the burning tree. You must then continue through the story until the truck in the parking lot leaves with the survivors. Once it has gone, you can open the pharmacy’s rear door, which was previously blocked by the truck.
Once inside, head to the room at the back to find the Pill Bottle - Metformin, activating the Good Deed. You must now continue through the story until you reach the Ministry of Cultural Primacy and enter the room containing the Woman’s Clothing required for the Incognito Good Deed. Open the other door to find a body carrying the Satellite Radio.
With both items in your possession, travel to the Acasa Marshes and head to the monolith southwest of Jova.
Go down the stairs on one side to find two soldiers. Give them the pill bottle and radio to complete the Good Deed.
This Good Deed begins in Marastan. From the APC’s starting position, take the turn-off to the right of the sign and head into the forest. Continue to the first bridge and cross it, then turn left at the next junction and climb the stairs.
At the top, turn left and continue until you reach a building.
Enter the shop and look behind the counter to collect the Keys - Samo’s Spare, beginning the Good Deed. From here, head northwest along the route you came from towards a petrol station and the garage just beyond it.
Once inside the courtyard, find the ladder at the back. Climb it to find Dorno Grisibel directly opposite Rémi. Give him the keys to complete the Good Deed.
This Good Deed takes place in Marastan. From the APC, follow the road until you see a barn on your left with the sound of someone crying inside.
Enter the grounds, go around the barn and look to the right after crossing the fence to see the glowing Key - Antenna, which activates this side quest. Next, you must reach the section of the caves where the Children’s Book is found. Follow the directions provided for that item, as the route is a little too long to explain again here. From the book’s location, drop over the edge and head right, descending the rocks until you see an antenna.
Use the Key - Antenna on the machine’s control box to disable it and complete the Good Deed.
This quest is activated in the village of Marastan. Once you reach the village, look for the house with an open door in the southern area. As a reference, you should be able to see the statue on the right-hand side of the image.
Once inside, head to the garage to find three Fuses, which activate the quest. The first Fuse is inserted behind the house on the right as you climb the stairs at the junction beside Keol & Sons.
Go back down the stairs and follow the street north. The house directly north of Tali, the man who calls down to you from a balcony, has another fuse box.
To insert the third Fuse, follow the northwestern street until you reach a house with a van on the left and a military truck on the right.
Enter the house, climb down the ladder and go through the door leading to the back garden. The fuse box is on the side of the building.
This Good Deed begins in the village of Marastan. In the church area, look for a house to the southwest. You can enter through a small tunnel containing a car and reach a ladder that allows you to climb onto the porch roof.
This allows you to enter through the balcony and collect an Urn and the Letter - Getting Out. You must now wait until you reach Jeljin. As soon as you arrive, look south, pass through the stone archway and turn the camera to the right to find Edwyn Tosan. Give him the Urn.
After speaking to him, collect the Urn and Key - Columbarium from the bench. Now look for the small crypt south of the church. It is beside the broken fence you pass through on the way to the archaeology camp.
Enter, use the key on the left-hand side and place the Urn inside to complete the quest.
You can complete this Good Deed in the village of Marastan. Follow the instructions for completing Insult to Injury to enter the soldiers’ camp. Once there, look for a slope leading down to the pier.
You can collect the Gas Canister here, beginning this side quest. To complete it, head west from the APC until you see a blue house on your right.
Enter the courtyard and head down to the pier to find Korio Dellas, then give him the fuel.
This is activated when you collect the Golden Clover in the Pathem Abbey Timeloop chamber. To complete it, you must travel to Jova, also in the Acasa Marshes. Head northwest and pass through the Jova Java alleyway, where you’ll usually encounter a few enemies. Climb the slope to the northwest and look behind the van with its lights on to find the village cemetery. It’s astonishingly small considering how much death there is around here.
Continue straight ahead after passing through the broken wall beside the van to see a tomb where the Golden Clover can be placed. Collect the Scroll - Eulogy that appears after doing so, along with the Bloodseeker Relic, to complete the activity.
This Good Deed is activated in the Lethe National Library. When you enter the Book Restoration office as part of the story—using the code 537734 on the keypad for the locked basement room—search one corner for the Note - Favours Owed, which activates the quest.
You must now reach the lower floor of the Ministry of Cultural Primacy. When you reach the large room beyond the office with the map on the wall, begin by looking for Office 109. It contains a safe built into the wall that opens with the code 2703.
Inside, you’ll find the Official Hadean Stamp. In the same section, find Office 112, look behind the desk and collect the ID Cards - Blank. With both items in your possession, return to the Book Restoration area of the National Library. You’re looking for a woman standing outside the office in the basement.
Give her the two items you collected from the Ministry to complete the Good Deed.
This Good Deed is activated in the Ministry of Cultural Primacy. The first step is to obtain the Keycard - Ministry in the parking garage. Head down the ramp and you’ll see it in plain sight.
Later, once you reach the offices, leave through the southeastern door from the office containing the hanged man and turn left whenever possible until you enter an office with a locked door and a keycard reader where the card can be used.
Inside the office, you’ll find the Woman’s Clothing on a sofa, activating the Good Deed. On this same floor, head southwest until you reach a large room containing a save point. Leave through the door opposite the one you used to enter and turn right. You should reach a room marked Lounge. Go inside to find a woman.
Give her the Woman’s Clothing to complete the quest.
To begin this Good Deed, you must first find the Key - Archaeology Camp in the Jeljin excavation site. To reach it, continue through the tunnel until you descend to the section directly beneath the Timeloop. Look back towards the area you descended from to see a tunnel you can squeeze through.
This route leads to a ladder near the Timeloop. Look to the right to see the key glowing. Now return to the camp area where you first descended into the tunnels. The first tent contains some lockers where you can use the key to obtain the Shoes - Red.
The final step takes you to the well square in Jova, in the Acasa Marshes. Find the house you enter through the upper floor by climbing the wooden ramps. You did this the first time you visited the village, so you’ll probably remember it.
Leave the Shoes - Red beside the plush elephant in the upstairs room to complete the Good Deed.
This Good Deed begins in the columbarium area of the Jeljin cemetery, which you’ll reach after passing through the excavation site. You’ll see the woman to the right after the save point, once you climb the stairs and enter the courtyard.
Speak to her, defeat every enemy in the courtyard and then speak to her again to make sure the quest begins properly. Now simply open the door on the eastern side of the courtyard, up the slope, and defeat the two enemies to your left to complete the task. One is standing on the scaffolding, so just fire a few projectiles at it and you’re done.
This Good Deed can be started while exploring the alpha security areas of the Auriga Museum. From the B1 training room, where you obtain the Alpha Access Card, look in the southwestern corner for a cell leading to the adjoining corridor containing several cages.
You’ll find the Cigarette Case in one of them and a Ring - Hand-Made in another. Both belong to the same Good Deed. To progress, you must give the Ring - Hand-Made to Dag Samson. If you’ve been completing the other Good Deeds, he’ll have left the Vyssa Hills with Atticus and will now be in Ernest Caddell’s basement in Senedra Forest.
The Cigarette Case must be handed over in Marastan. From the APC, follow the road and look for Elzina in the first house on the right.
