When choosing your weapons in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, it's easy to be dazzled by high damage stats or flashy special effects. However, this could be a mistake that keeps you from using the best swords and pistols in the game. Unlike in most games, there really are certain swords and pistols that stand head and shoulders above the rest thanks to their special perks.
Here, we'll show you what they are and explain why we're so sure they're better than every other weapon.
Ezio's Swords are a pair of swords available from the Exchange store for 1,500 Keys. Remember that Keys can be obtained through Anomalies and Projects, not just from the handful scattered around the world.
Their damage stat isn't particularly high, but that's where many players go wrong in Assassin's Creed Black Flag: damage doesn't really matter, as your goal is to throw enemies off balance and take them down, rather than slowly drain their health. Ezio's Swords have a special perk that allows you to parry unstoppable attacks. In other words, those hulking axe-wielding enemies become much less of a problem, as you can parry their attacks and counter with an instant takedown.
They also allow for three Chain Takedowns. If other enemies are nearby, you can immediately take down two more. Just remember that large enemies (Brutes) can't be targeted during a Chain Takedown unless you're using a trinket with this special perk. If you can't obtain Ezio's Swords, a good alternative is the Espada Ancha. We would recommend Naoe's Shadowblade, but if you can't get Ezio's Swords, you probably won't be able to obtain the Shadowblade either.
The main advantage of this sword, which can be found in The Black Trench, is that it allows you to take down four enemies in a chain and doesn't cost you anything. Land a good parry in an area packed with enemies and you can take down four of them in quick succession. However, remember that you won't be able to parry unstoppable attacks.
The Dark Animus Corsair Flintlocks are easily the best pistols you can use, both when fighting enemies and while hunting.
These pistols have a special perk that causes each shot to also hit a second enemy. This can be enough to take down four or five enemies with a quick volley or kill two nearby wild animals, for example. They don't have the greatest range, but the sheer lethality of this perk more than makes up for it.
