Among the many collectibles you can find and/or complete in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced are Data Files. These are interactive points that let you obtain Animus files that provide more context for the game's wider story. Reading them reveals events taking place—or that have already taken place—in the real world while you explore Edward's genetic memories.
All files not listed below are unlocked as rewards from Animus Projects.
These are all the Data Files in the EGO section:
You will find this Data File in Placer de los Roques, in the southeastern corner of Dry Tortuga. It is in the upper part of the settlement, on the porch of one of the houses.

This file is in San Juan Cave, in the northern corner of Cruz, next to the cave's only chest.
As you approach the cave, you will need to dive and swim through the underwater cavern to reach an enemy camp. The file is in the lower area, just before the chest.
This Data File is on the northeastern coast of Mayaguana Island, in eastern Gibara.
It is lying on the wooden planks of the dock.
This file is in the northwestern part of New Bone, the settlement in the southeastern corner of Serranilla.
This Data File is on the western shore of central Florida, an island in the northeastern part of Dry Tortuga.
You will find the file at the end of the bowsprit of the ship jutting out from the shore.
You will find this file on the southeastern coast of Isla Providencia, southeast of Serranilla.

This Data File is in the southeastern part of Cape Bonavista, along the south-southwestern edge of Dry Tortuga.
It is in the area containing the region's Mayan Stela. Near the pillars is a waterfall you can jump through to reach the abandoned village below. The file is above the waterfall.
You can find this file in Gibara Fort, in southwestern Gibara, the easternmost of the map's central regions.
The file is on one of the posts holding the hanging cages in front of the door to the fort's main room.
This Data File is on top of the Great Inagua mansion, in southeastern Gibara.
It is on the roof.
You will find this file in the northern part of Grand Cayman, the settlement in the southwestern corner of Cruz.
It is inside a tent at the enemy camp.

You will find this file in the east-northeastern part of Mystery Island, in the southeastern corner of the world map.
You will find this file on the southwestern coast of Ile a Vache, the island in the central-southeastern part of Navassa.
You will find this file in Kingston, the city in northwestern Navassa, just east of the central viewpoint.
This Data File is in the northern part of Tulum, the area in southwestern Contoy, along the central-western edge of the world map.
It is on top of one of the small chambers in the northernmost elevated section of the ruins.
This Data File is in the southern part of Port Royal Fort, in Navassa.

This Data File is on the eastern coast of Santanillas, the ruins in southeastern Chinchorro.

The file is on a ledge. To reach it, head south from the area's viewpoint.
This Data File is in the southern part of Long Bay, in Charlotte. It is on top of the ruins near the Mayan Stela.

This Data File is on an island northeast of Crooked Island, in Gibara. It is on the remains of a ship.
Climb onto the ship's bow to find it.
