Among the many side missions you can complete in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, one category is known as common side missions. As you might expect, these are fairly standard missions, most of which are tied to completing collectible sets, restoring buildings and other similar activities.
Unless otherwise stated, all these missions will become available no later than Sequence 6 of the story.
This side mission becomes available in Great Inagua by speaking to Bernard, the manor's butler. To do so, interact with the mission marker in the manor's garden.
Bernard will ask you to collect 25 Art Collection items. These can be found in chests and warehouses, while the models of ships you defeat or capture also count. When you return to him, you'll gradually receive several special rewards.
This mission simply asks you to complete the Templar Hunts, collect the keys and use them on the gate inside the Great Inagua manor. The mission will essentially become available as part of the story.
This mission becomes available in Great Inagua. Although it has a mission marker, there are actually several markers scattered around the harbor. All you need to do is speak to the person responsible for restoring each building—they have a special icon above their head—and restore all seven service buildings in Great Inagua. Once you've done so, speak to the butler at the Great Inagua manor.
This mission becomes available in Great Inagua after completing Former Glories and Art Lover. Simply speak to Bernard at the manor.
This mission becomes available in central Great Inagua, along the path south of the harbor.
You'll find a cat sitting on the roof of a small house. All you need to do is climb up and pet the cat to unlock Soot the Cat as a pet.
This mission becomes available when you visit Tulum as part of the story. It begins in the northwestern part of Tulum, in the southwestern part of Contoy—the region located in the central section of the western edge of the world map.
To complete this mission, you first need to collect all the Mayan Stelae. Once you have them all, follow the marker to the Mayan door in Tulum. Continue along the path until you reach an altar containing the Mayan Outfit.
This mission will begin automatically as you progress through Sequence 8, as part of the story. The vague clues on Blackbeard's Treasure Map, which doesn't include any coordinates, will lead you to Anotto Bay (590,245).
Once you arrive, you'll need to dive underwater and cross the flooded mine leading into the cave. Keep going until you dodge a shark, then turn right to find some bubbles marking the way upwards. From there, there's only one path leading to an area filled with enemies and explosive barrels. Take them out, then look toward the eastern wall for an area marked in green, indicating that there's something behind it.
Pick up one of the small powder kegs scattered around the area and place it beside the rocks to blow them up and clear the way. Continue through the tunnel until you eliminate a group of enemies in a section of the cave containing a waterfall. Then place a powder keg on the raised area behind the waterfall. Blow up the rocks to reveal another path.
A cutscene will play when you enter the chamber. Now leave the area and return to Great Inagua, where the mission marker will appear. Once there, look to the left of the door of the house behind the General Store. The marker will direct you to the exact spot. Interact with it to complete the mission.
This mission becomes available in Great Inagua when you reach Sequence 9 of the story. The marker will appear automatically. Head to the table in the manor's main hall to find a letter from Stede on the side table beside the bay window. Read it to begin the mission.
The marker will lead you to Mystery Island (910,124), northeast of Navassa.
The ship is on the island's western shore, west of the viewpoint. It's a ship with green decorations, and Edward will recognize it as you approach. Examine the hatch beside the mast and speak to the pirates. You'll need to help them deal with several enemies. Once you've cleared the beach, they'll take you to Stede's cabin. Head to the far end of the ship's interior and interact with the planks to reach the cabin and find the letter. To complete the mission, you'll need to hang the portrait in the basement of the Great Inagua manor.
