Among the many collectibles you can find and/or complete in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced are Map Fragments. These pieces of treasure maps are different from complete Treasure Maps, although once restored, they work in exactly the same way. The catch is that you need to follow a specific set of steps to obtain and restore each type.
The first thing you need to do is progress through the story until you unlock the Great Inagua hideout. Once you have met this requirement, you will be able to carry out a series of building renovations (this is part of the Former Glories quest, and you will have objective markers to follow). One of these buildings is the Treasure Dealer, located on the western side of the dock. It does not have a map icon and will only appear when you approach it.
At the merchant's shop, you can exchange Map Fragments—along with the materials required for each type—for restored maps. Bear in mind that there is a limited number of each type of Map Fragment and that you need every fragment in a set to restore its corresponding map.
Once restored, the maps will reveal the exact coordinates of the treasure, just like regular Treasure Maps. It is worth noting that you do not need to complete every map for anything, and none of these locations contains an essential item.
This is the most difficult map to restore. It requires 10 Yellowed Map Fragments. These fragments are obtained from Schooner missions in Kenway's Fleet. Since the available missions refresh at random whenever you complete a mission in a sector, it could take you ten hours—or a hundred.
This map requires 6 Worn Map Fragments. They can be found at a series of fixed locations, which are listed below:
The map will lead you to 914,124 (Mystery Island). You will receive the Persian Scimitars and the Gargoyle's Breath pistol.
This map requires 3 Tattered Map Fragments. These fragments are obtained from Hunter Ships, the Bounty Hunters' vessels that appear as your Wanted Level rises. However, you must meet several conditions to obtain them:
The map will lead you to 381,803 (Florida). You will receive the Gilt-Lined Sails, the Elite Wheel, and the Sleek Crew Attire.
This map requires 4 Well-Kept Map Fragments. To obtain them, you need to loot Warehouses. The fragments are awarded at random as you raid them, so you may not receive one on your first attempt.
This map will lead you to 14,554, Sacrifice Island. You will receive the Shade and Shadow Robes and the Wooden Eyeball.
This map requires 2 Digested Map Fragments. These fragments are obtained by skinning the White Jaguar in Great Inagua.
This animal takes a little longer to respawn than others, and the fragment is dropped at random, so obtaining both pieces may take a while. The map will lead you to 188,215 (Santanillas). You will receive the Hunter’s Outfit and the Hunter’s Amulet.
