Among the many locations you will need to explore in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced are several Forts. These are heavily fortified locations packed with enemies and guarded by ships. To conquer them, you should first try to thin out the enemy fleet and then destroy the cannon emplacements, allowing you to disembark and eliminate all the enemies before taking control of the fort's main room.
Conquering a fort will earn you special rewards, including various ship upgrades, and also reveal the entire region. However, only named locations will be shown. You will not be able to fast travel to them until you discover them yourself, and the area's collectibles will remain hidden, with only major points of interest appearing on the map.

This fort can be found in northeastern Castillo de Jagua, in the northeastern part of the region west of the center of the map.
Conquering the fort will unlock the Spilled Blood Sails.
You will find this fort in the eastern part of Cruz, the region on the eastern side of the center of the world map.
Conquering the fort will unlock the Gray Sails.
This fort must be conquered as part of the story.
This fort can be found in northern Chinchorro.
Conquering the fort will unlock the Ranger Figurehead.
The Serranilla Fort can be found in the central part of the region, along the southern edge of the map.
Conquering the fort will unlock the Elite Figurehead.
The second-to-last fort can be found in northwestern Charlotte, the eastern region in the south-central part of the map.
Conquering it will unlock the Grapeshot Barrel weapon for your ship.
