Hades 2 is an action game developed and published by Supergiant Games for PC. The hit action roguelike, set in the world of Greek mythology and featuring spectacular hack-and-slash combat, returns with a highly anticipated sequel. This time, you must face the Titan of Time in a game packed with charismatic characters, gorgeous visuals and intense, entertaining battles that can keep you hooked for dozens of hours.
Hades 2 is the long-awaited sequel to Supergiant Games’ acclaimed 2020 action roguelike. It takes place in the same mythological universe while greatly expanding both its narrative scope and gameplay ambitions. This time, you play as Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld and sister of Zagreus, who is determined to free her family and defeat the fearsome Titan of Time, Chronos, after he seizes control of the Underworld.
The game retains the individual run-based structure with permadeath: each attempt takes you through regions such as Erebus, Oceanus and Tartarus, as well as new areas on the Surface, including Ephyra, the Rift of Thessaly, Mount Olympus and the Summit. In every chamber, you must battle numerous dangerous enemies, collect upgrades, gather resources and build up your power as you make your way towards the bosses guarding the entrance to the next region.
Melinoë can wield six different types of weapons and has access to resources such as Magick, which allows her to unleash special abilities. The Boons of the gods return with even more options and effects, alongside several new mechanics: Arcana Cards that enhance your abilities, Hexes that can transform the battlefield, summonable Animal Familiars and powerful synergies between upgrades.
As in the first game, the world of Hades 2 features a deep narrative that continues to evolve as you progress. Characters from the original return, the gods take an active role and Melinoë’s story becomes intertwined with both personal and cosmic conflicts. Every defeat still contributes to your overall progress, allowing you to unlock Incantations, weapons, new bonds with characters at the Crossroads and permanent upgrades for future runs.
