Hades 2: How to Unlock the Garden and Grow Plant Seeds

One of the new mechanics introduced in Hades 2 is the ability to grow plant Seeds collected using the Silver Spade. These resources can later be used to perform various Incantations at the Cauldron in the Crossroads. However, you will not be able to grow your Seeds at the beginning of the game.

If you are wondering how to grow Seeds or what you need to get started, this section of our guide explains everything you need to know.

How do you unlock the Garden?

To grow the Seeds you collect during your runs in Hades 2, you must progress far enough to unlock the "Flourishing Soil" Incantation at the Cauldron in the Crossroads.

• This Incantation becomes available at the Cauldron after you have collected your first Moly plant.
• The Incantation costs just 1 Moly, which can be gathered by hand throughout Erebus.

Once you meet these requirements, simply perform the Incantation. This will create two Soil Plots in the Crossroads where you can plant Seeds. Seeds are generally found at random at Digging Spots that can appear throughout the different regions. These look like glowing mounds of earth, and you can dig them up with the Silver Spade to obtain different Seeds.

Once you have some Seeds and the first two Soil Plots are available in the Crossroads, you can plant any type of Seed in them. Bear in mind that each type of Seed takes a different amount of time to grow fully into its corresponding plant.

Time only passes while you are out on a run and progressing through the different regions, or when inviting characters to spend time with you at the Hot Springs, for example, once you have unlocked them. This means that simply waiting beside the Soil Plots will not make the Seeds grow, so keep that in mind.

How do you add more Soil Plots to the Garden?

After creating your small Garden in Hades 2, you may be wondering whether you can expand it to gain more Soil Plots and grow additional Seeds simultaneously. The answer is yes: you can upgrade the Garden twice.

As you continue progressing through the game, you will eventually unlock the following two Incantations at the Cauldron, both of which expand the Garden:

• Rich Soil: Requires 3 Lotus and creates two additional Soil Plots in the Garden.
• Verdant Soil: Requires 1 Wheat and 1 Garlic, and creates the final two additional Soil Plots in the Garden.

Now you know what to do: if you want to plant more Seeds, continue progressing through the story and collect the resources required to perform these two Incantations. This will give you a total of 6 Soil Plots in which to grow Seeds, greatly increasing how quickly you can obtain different plants.
