To fight and overcome every threat along the way, Hades 2 offers a selection of Nocturnal Arms to choose from, although only one is available at the beginning. As in the original game, Hades 2 features a fantastic selection of deities from Greek mythology who are willing to lend us a hand on every run by offering their Boons. These provide a range of powers and passive effects that improve our attacks, grant us more Magick or resources, and much more. Interacting with every character is important if you want to enjoy Hades 2's rich narrative, but you should also remember that you can give gifts to them and receive Keepsakes in return. These special treasures and trinkets can be equipped to provide extremely useful, unique advantages during each run, so you will definitely want to keep them close at hand. Here we explain how to unlock every Keepsake and what each one does.
Among the new features in Hades 2 are the Tools of the Unseen, which allow us to gather different resources and items throughout the Underworld. Hades 2 features a huge number of different resources and materials that the game places within the "Reagents" category. These items are used to upgrade weapons, perform Incantations and much more, and can be farmed as rewards for clearing Locations and defeating bosses or by using Tools such as the Pick and Spade. Since there are so many different Reagents, we have put together a complete list explaining how to obtain each one. Want to collect every type of plant and seed in Hades 2? This sequel includes plenty of items in this category, which you can either grow yourself or gather from Digging Spots with the Spade. All of them can be used to perform special Incantations. This section of the guide includes the complete list and all their details, as well as an explanation of how to create and expand the garden.
The Arcana in Hades 2 provide a series of passive benefits that can be unlocked and activated through the Altar of Ashes in the Crossroads. Each Arcana is represented by a different card, and all of them are extremely useful for making Melinoë permanently stronger. You will therefore want to learn everything about them, including which ones are the most useful and how to upgrade their ranks.
In the Crossroads, the hub and resting area we visit after each run, we have access to a progression and upgrade system based around the Cauldron, its Incantations and its Alchemy recipes. Would you like to have some companions on your adventures in Hades 2? You can, thanks to the Animal Familiars. These creatures can be recruited as companions and will lend a hand during your most difficult moments with their useful abilities. The Minor Prophecies return in Hades 2 and work much like they did in the first game.
