Eris, Strife Incarnate in Hades 2 is one of the main bosses you will encounter while traveling across the surface, once you have gained access to this part of the game (check out our related guide for more details). She awaits in the final chamber of the Rift of Thessaly, after you successfully complete the entire voyage by ship.
In this section of our guide, we will share the essential tips and tricks you need to defeat Eris easily, as well as explain her main attacks and weaknesses so the battle does not give you too much trouble. Take note!
Eris is an especially fast and evasive boss who attacks from a distance. Her moves have tremendous range and cover a wide area, she can fly using her wings and, as if that were not enough, she can increase her damage as the battle progresses. All of this makes the fight particularly demanding and will put your reflexes to the test.
Below, we take you through her main attacks:
Eris has one major weakness in common with several other bosses in the game: she frequently leaves her back exposed. Her main gun attacks are always aimed forward, so getting behind her gives you an excellent opportunity to deal damage while remaining safe, especially when she performs her multi-shot combo.
You should also watch out for the large number of explosive barrels positioned around the edges of the arena. Your attacks or Eris's gunfire will almost certainly cause them to explode, leaving behind burning areas that remain for the rest of the encounter and must be avoided. This will leave you with less room to move, so you will need to carefully consider every step. Do not dash around wildly in a panic. Instead, try to lure Eris toward the center of the beach, where you will have more space to maneuver safely.
Remember that there are also two scarlet barriers on the beach throughout the battle. You can use these as cover, causing Eris's bullets to hit the structures instead of damaging you while you are hiding behind them. They can save you more than once, although they will not protect you from rockets.
Finally, because Eris can deal so much damage, it is highly advisable to reach this battle as strong as possible. During your journey across the surface, try to increase your maximum health so you can withstand her attacks, or look for ways to improve your weapon damage and Boons. The faster you can defeat Eris, the less danger you will be in.
Each time you defeat Eris, you will receive one Golden Apple as a reward. This resource is primarily used in Incantations related to beauty and fertility.
