The Crossroads, the central hub where you can rest, perform Incantations, grow plants and train in Hades 2, is already a beautiful place, but it can become even more impressive as you progress through the game and improve its facilities. Since the release of the Olympic Update, you can also decorate the Crossroads however you like, much as you could in the original game. In this section of our guide, we explain how to customize the Crossroads, what you need to do so and everything else you need to know about this feature.

How do you unlock the option to decorate the Crossroads?

If you want to decorate the Crossroads in Hades 2 with different ornaments, visual themes and music, you must first progress far enough through the game and meet the following prerequisite:

  • You must give at least one Nectar to Dora.

Dora is the green character who can always, or almost always, be found in Melinoë’s quarters immediately after you awaken following each run. In principle, giving her a single Nectar should be enough for Dora to mention the possibility of decorating the Crossroads.

If Dora still does not talk to you about this after receiving Nectar, you will need to progress a little further. You will probably have to keep playing and expand the facilities at the Crossroads. Remember that Cauldron Incantations allow you to create locations such as the Hot Springs, the garden plots, the Wretched Broker’s shop and more.

Make sure you talk to Dora whenever you return to the Crossroads. Eventually, she will tell you about the option to decorate the area.

Once Dora allows you to decorate the Crossroads, you will find her in up to three different locations, where you can interact with her to customize separate areas: your own room, the main area beside the Cauldron and the Training Grounds beside the Keepsake display case.

  • To customize an area, simply select the "Decorate" option when you approach Dora.
  • A list of available decorations for that part of the Crossroads will appear.
  • You will need to spend Prestige to install new decorations, as well as rarer materials in certain cases.
  • Once purchased, a decoration remains permanently unlocked, and you can switch back to the previous one whenever you like.

Later, you can also perform the "Summoning of Musical Rhapsody" Incantation at the Cauldron to unlock the Music Maker at the Crossroads. This character allows you to purchase new background music, which can also be considered a type of decoration since tracks cost Prestige as well.

Hades 2 - How to obtain Prestige for decorations

As mentioned above, purchasing decorations requires you to spend a type of currency known as Prestige. Prestige can mainly be obtained through the Wretched Broker after you have performed the Cauldron Incantation known as "Earthly Fortune".

The Broker will allow you to exchange almost any surplus resources for Prestige. These include the Rubbish left behind by Eris and plants you no longer need, such as Thalamus. In general, the recycling list appears to contain only materials that you genuinely no longer need for anything else in the game, usually because you have already performed every Incantation requiring that particular resource.

How do you unlock new special decorations?

Hades 2 - How to unlock new special decorations

When you first unlock the ability to decorate the Crossroads, the selection available to you will be limited. However, you can unlock additional decorations by meeting conditions such as the following:

  • Purchasing decorations already available in the list.
  • Improving your relationships with other characters.
  • Allowing a certain number of nights to pass.
  • Defeating a specific number of enemies or bosses.
  • Reaching new regions of the Underworld or the Surface.

Bear in mind that certain special decorations are associated with specific characters. To unlock them, you will need to reach an approval rating of around 70% with the corresponding character, or 100% in some cases, which means filling all of their hearts.
