In the free-to-play game for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, Pokémon Champions, all available Pokémon have a number of Abilities that trigger different special effects during battles, as is customary in the series. As players, we can choose which of its available Abilities each Pokémon on our team should have, depending on what suits us best. You can also spend Victory Points at the Training Center to change each Pokémon's active Ability.
In this section of our guide, we provide a simple, concise overview of every Pokémon Ability available in Champions. This lets you check which ones can affect competitive battles in this game or see whether your favorites are included.
All Available Pokémon Abilities
Here is the complete list of all Pokémon Abilities included in Pokémon Champions, in numerical order:
- Stench: Gives the Pokémon a 10% chance to make the target flinch when it deals damage with a move.
- Drizzle: Makes it rain for five turns when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Speed Boost: Raises the Pokémon's Speed by one stage at the end of each turn.
- Battle Armor: Prevents the Pokémon from being struck by critical hits.
- Sturdy: If the Pokémon is at full HP, it survives with 1 HP when hit by a move that would otherwise knock it out. It is also unaffected by one-hit KO moves.
- Damp: Prevents explosive moves from being used and explosive Abilities from activating. This affects all Pokémon.
- Limber: Prevents the Pokémon from being paralyzed.
- Sand Veil: Raises the Pokémon's Evasion by 25% during a sandstorm.
- Static: Has a 30% chance to paralyze an attacker that hits the Pokémon with a contact move.
- Volt Absorb: Makes the Pokémon immune to Electric-type moves and restores 1/4 of its maximum HP when it is hit by one.
- Water Absorb: Makes the Pokémon immune to Water-type moves and restores 1/4 of its maximum HP when it is hit by one.
- Oblivious: Prevents the Pokémon from becoming infatuated, being taunted, or being intimidated.
- Cloud Nine: Negates all effects of weather.
- Compound Eyes: Raises the accuracy of the Pokémon's moves by 30%.
- Insomnia: Prevents the Pokémon from falling asleep or becoming drowsy.
- Immunity: Prevents the Pokémon from being poisoned or badly poisoned.
- Flash Fire: Makes the Pokémon immune to Fire-type moves and gives it the Flash Fire status when it is hit by one.
- Shield Dust: Makes the Pokémon immune to the additional effects of attacks.
- Own Tempo: Prevents the Pokémon from becoming confused or being intimidated.
- Suction Cups: Makes the Pokémon immune to moves and items used by other Pokémon that force it to switch out.
- Intimidate: Lowers opposing Pokémon's Attack by one stage when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Shadow Tag: Prevents opposing Pokémon from switching out.
- Rough Skin: Makes an attacker lose 1/8 of its maximum HP when it hits the Pokémon with a contact move.
- Levitate: Makes the Pokémon float above the ground, rendering it immune to Ground-type moves and the effects of Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Sticky Web.
- Synchronize: If the Pokémon is burned, poisoned, badly poisoned, or paralyzed by another Pokémon's move or Ability, that Pokémon receives the same status condition.
- Clear Body: Prevents other Pokémon's moves or Abilities from lowering the Pokémon's stats.
- Natural Cure: Cures the Pokémon's status conditions when it switches out.
- Lightning Rod: Draws Electric-type moves toward the Pokémon and makes it immune to them. It also raises the Pokémon's Sp. Atk by one stage when it is hit by one.
- Swift Swim: Doubles the Pokémon's Speed while it is raining.
- Chlorophyll: Doubles the Pokémon's Speed in harsh sunlight.
- Illuminate: Prevents the Pokémon's Accuracy from being lowered and ignores changes to the target's Evasion.
- Trace: Replaces the Pokémon's Ability with an opposing Pokémon's Ability when it enters battle.
- Huge Power: Doubles the power of the Pokémon's physical attacks.
- Poison Point: Has a 30% chance to poison an attacker that hits the Pokémon with a contact move.
- Inner Focus: Prevents the Pokémon from flinching from other Pokémon's attacks or being intimidated.
- Magma Armor: Prevents the Pokémon from being frozen.
- Soundproof: Makes the Pokémon immune to sound-based moves.
- Rain Dish: Restores 1/16 of the Pokémon's maximum HP at the end of each turn while it is raining.
- Sand Stream: Summons a sandstorm for five turns when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Pressure: Makes moves used against the Pokémon consume 1 extra PP.
- Thick Fat: Halves the damage the Pokémon takes from Fire- and Ice-type moves.
- Early Bird: If the Pokémon falls asleep, it wakes up twice as quickly.
- Flame Body: Has a 30% chance to burn an attacker that hits the Pokémon with a contact move.
- Keen Eye: Prevents the Pokémon's Accuracy from being lowered and ignores changes to the target's Evasion.
- Hyper Cutter: Prevents other Pokémon's moves or Abilities from lowering the Pokémon's Attack.
- Pickup: If the Pokémon is not holding an item, it picks up an item consumed by another Pokémon at the end of the turn.
- Hustle: Raises the Pokémon's Attack by 50% when it uses a physical attack, but lowers its Accuracy by 20%.
- Cute Charm: Has a 30% chance to infatuate an attacker that hits the Pokémon with a contact move. It only works if the attacker is of the opposite gender.
- Plus: Raises the Pokémon's Sp. Atk by 50% if an ally currently in battle has the Plus or Minus Ability.
- Minus: Raises the Pokémon's Sp. Atk by 50% if an ally currently in battle has the Plus or Minus Ability.
- Forecast: Changes the Pokémon's type to Water, Fire, or Ice depending on the weather.
- Sticky Hold: Prevents the Pokémon's held item from being stolen or lost.
- Shed Skin: Has a 30% chance to cure the Pokémon's status conditions at the end of each turn.
- Guts: Raises the Pokémon's Attack by 50% if it has a status condition. Ignores the reduction in physical damage caused by burns.
- Marvel Scale: Raises the Pokémon's Defense by 50% if it has a status condition.
- Overgrow: Raises the power of the Pokémon's Grass-type moves by 50% when it has 1/3 or less of its maximum HP remaining.
- Blaze: Raises the power of the Pokémon's Fire-type moves by 50% when it has 1/3 or less of its maximum HP remaining.
- Torrent: Raises the power of the Pokémon's Water-type moves by 50% when it has 1/3 or less of its maximum HP remaining.
- Swarm: Raises the power of the Pokémon's Bug-type moves by 50% when it has 1/3 or less of its maximum HP remaining.
- Rock Head: Prevents the Pokémon from losing HP when using moves that also damage the user.
- Drought: Creates harsh sunlight for five turns when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Vital Spirit: Prevents the Pokémon from falling asleep or becoming drowsy.
- White Smoke: Prevents other Pokémon's moves or Abilities from lowering the Pokémon's stats.
- Pure Power: Doubles the power of the Pokémon's physical attacks.
- Shell Armor: Prevents the Pokémon from being struck by critical hits.
- Tangled Feet: Doubles the Pokémon's Evasion while it is confused.
- Motor Drive: Makes the Pokémon immune to Electric-type moves and raises its Speed by one stage when it is hit by one.
- Rivalry: Raises the power of the Pokémon's moves by 25% if the target is the same gender, or lowers it by 25% if the target is the opposite gender. Power remains unchanged if the gender of either Pokémon is unknown.
- Steadfast: Raises the Pokémon's Speed by one stage when it flinches.
- Snow Cloak: Raises the Pokémon's Evasion by 25% while it is snowing.
- Gluttony: Allows the Pokémon to eat its held Berry when it has half or less of its maximum HP remaining instead of waiting until it has 1/4 or less.
- Anger Point: Raises the Pokémon's Attack to stage six if it is struck by a critical hit.
- Unburden: Doubles the Pokémon's Speed if it consumes or loses its held item.
- Heatproof: Halves the damage the Pokémon takes from Fire-type moves and burns.
- Simple: Doubles stat changes.
- Dry Skin: Makes the Pokémon immune to Water-type moves and restores 1/4 of its maximum HP when it is hit by one, but raises the damage it takes from Fire-type moves by 25%. It restores 1/8 of its maximum HP at the end of each turn while it is raining, but loses 1/8 of its maximum HP at the end of each turn in harsh sunlight.
- Iron Fist: Raises the power of the Pokémon's punching moves by 20%.
- Poison Heal: Restores 1/8 of the Pokémon's maximum HP at the end of each turn instead of losing HP if it is poisoned or badly poisoned.
- Adaptability: Raises the power of moves that match the Pokémon's type by 100% instead of 50%.
- Skill Link: Ensures that multistrike moves always hit the maximum number of times.
- Hydration: Cures all of the Pokémon's status conditions at the end of each turn while it is raining.
- Solar Power: Raises the Pokémon's Sp. Atk by 50% in harsh sunlight, but makes it lose 1/8 of its maximum HP at the end of each turn.
- Quick Feet: Raises the Pokémon's Speed by 50% if it has a status condition. Ignores the Speed reduction caused by paralysis.
- Sniper: Raises the power of the Pokémon's critical hits by 125% instead of 50%.
- Magic Guard: The Pokémon only takes damage from attacks.
- No Guard: Moves used by or against the Pokémon have 100% accuracy.
- Stall: Makes the Pokémon act last when its move has the same priority as others.
- Technician: Raises the power of the Pokémon's moves by 50% if their base power is 60 or less.
- Leaf Guard: Makes the Pokémon immune to status conditions in harsh sunlight.
- Klutz: Negates the effects of the Pokémon's held item.
- Mold Breaker: The Pokémon's moves are unaffected by the target's Ability, with some exceptions.
- Super Luck: Raises the Pokémon's critical-hit ratio by one stage.
- Aftermath: Makes the attacker lose 1/4 of its maximum HP if it knocks out the Pokémon with a contact move.
- Anticipation: Warns the Pokémon when an opponent has a one-hit KO move or a move that is super effective against it when it enters battle.
- Unaware: Ignores changes to the target's stats, except Speed, when the Pokémon attacks or takes damage.
- Filter: Reduces the damage the Pokémon takes from super-effective moves by 25%.
- Scrappy: Allows Normal- and Fighting-type moves to hit Ghost-type Pokémon. It also prevents the Pokémon from being intimidated.
- Ice Body: Restores 1/16 of the Pokémon's maximum HP at the end of each turn while it is snowing.
- Solid Rock: Reduces the damage the Pokémon takes from super-effective moves by 25%.
- Snow Warning: Makes it snow for five turns when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Frisk: Reveals the opponent's held item when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Reckless: Raises the power of moves that also damage the user by 20%.
- Pickpocket: If the Pokémon is not holding an item, it steals the item held by an attacker that hits it with a contact move.
- Sheer Force: Raises the power of the Pokémon's moves by 30%, but removes their additional effects.
- Contrary: Reverses stat changes affecting the Pokémon, making stats drop instead of rise and rise instead of drop.
- Unnerve: Prevents opposing Pokémon from eating Berries.
- Defiant: Raises the Pokémon's Attack by two stages when an opponent lowers any of its stats.
- Cursed Body: Has a 30% chance to give the attacker the Move Disabled status for four turns if the Pokémon takes damage from a move.
- Healer: Has a 50% chance to cure an ally's status conditions at the end of each turn.
- Friend Guard: Reduces the damage taken by allies by 25%.
- Weak Armor: Lowers the Pokémon's Defense by one stage and raises its Speed by two stages when it takes damage from a physical attack.
- Heavy Metal: Doubles the Pokémon's weight.
- Light Metal: Halves the Pokémon's weight.
- Multiscale: Halves the damage the Pokémon takes while it is at full HP.
- Harvest: After eating a Berry, the Pokémon has a 50% chance to harvest another of the same kind at the end of each turn. This chance rises to 100% in harsh sunlight.
- Telepathy: Allows the Pokémon to evade attacks from its allies.
- Moody: Raises one of the Pokémon's stats by two stages and lowers another by one stage at the end of each turn.
- Overcoat: Makes the Pokémon immune to damage from sandstorms and to powder-based moves and Abilities.
- Poison Touch: Has a 30% chance to poison a target that the Pokémon hits with a contact move.
- Regenerator: Restores 1/3 of the Pokémon's maximum HP when it switches out.
- Big Pecks: Prevents other Pokémon's moves or Abilities from lowering the Pokémon's Defense.
- Sand Rush: Doubles the Pokémon's Speed during a sandstorm.
- Analytic: Raises the power of the Pokémon's move by 30% if it is the last to act that turn.
- Illusion: The Pokémon takes on the appearance of the last Pokémon in the party before it enters battle. The illusion ends if it takes damage from a move.
- Imposter: Transforms the Pokémon into the opponent in front of it. It copies all of that Pokémon's stats except HP.
- Infiltrator: When the Pokémon uses a move, it ignores the effects of Light Screen, Reflect, Aurora Veil, Safeguard, and the target's substitute.
- Mummy: Replaces an attacker's Ability with Mummy if it hits the Pokémon with a contact move.
- Moxie: Raises the Pokémon's Attack by one stage when it knocks out a target with an attack.
- Justified: Raises the Pokémon's Attack by one stage when it takes damage from a Dark-type move.
- Magic Bounce: Reflects status moves back at the attacker without affecting the Pokémon.
- Sap Sipper: Makes the Pokémon immune to Grass-type moves and raises its Attack by one stage when it is hit by one.
- Prankster: Raises the priority of the Pokémon's status moves by one stage.
- Sand Force: Raises the power of the Pokémon's Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-type moves by 30% during a sandstorm.
- Aroma Veil: Protects the Pokémon and its allies from Infatuation, Taunt, Repeat Disabled, Move Disabled, Heal Block, and Encore.
- Flower Veil: Prevents allied Grass-type Pokémon from being affected by status conditions or having their stats lowered.
- Cheek Pouch: Restores 1/3 of the Pokémon's maximum HP when it eats a Berry, in addition to the Berry's usual effect.
- Protean: Changes the Pokémon's type to that of the first move it uses after entering battle.
- Fur Coat: Halves the damage the Pokémon takes from physical attacks.
- Magician: If the Pokémon is not holding an item, it steals the item held by a target it damages with a move.
- Bulletproof: Makes the Pokémon immune to projectile-based moves.
- Competitive: Raises the Pokémon's Sp. Atk by two stages when an opponent lowers any of its stats.
- Strong Jaw: Raises the power of the Pokémon's biting moves by 50%.
- Refrigerate: Turns the Pokémon's Normal-type moves into Ice-type moves and raises their power by 20%.
- Sweet Veil: Prevents the Pokémon and its allies from falling asleep or becoming drowsy.
- Stance Change: Changes the Pokémon to Blade Forme when it attacks, or to Shield Forme when it uses King's Shield.
- Gale Wings: Raises the priority of the Pokémon's Flying-type moves by one stage while it is at full HP.
- Mega Launcher: Raises the power of the Pokémon's pulse moves by 50%.
- Symbiosis: Passes the Pokémon's held item to an ally when that ally consumes its own item.
- Tough Claws: Raises the power of the Pokémon's contact moves by 30%.
- Pixilate: Turns the Pokémon's Normal-type moves into Fairy-type moves and raises their power by 20%.
- Gooey: Lowers an attacker's Speed by one stage when it hits the Pokémon with a contact move.
- Aerilate: Turns the Pokémon's Normal-type moves into Flying-type moves and raises their power by 20%.
- Parental Bond: Makes the Pokémon and its child attack together in a two-hit attack. The child's attack has 25% of the power of its mother's.
- Fairy Aura: Raises the power of all Pokémon's Fairy-type moves by 33%.
- Stamina: Raises the Pokémon's Defense by one stage when it takes damage from a move.
- Merciless: Makes the Pokémon's attacks always land critical hits if the target is poisoned or badly poisoned.
- Water Bubble: Halves the damage the Pokémon takes from Fire-type moves and doubles the power of its Water-type moves. It also prevents the Pokémon from being burned.
- Berserk: Raises the Pokémon's Sp. Atk by one stage when an attack causes its HP to fall to half or less of its maximum.
- Slush Rush: Doubles the Pokémon's Speed while it is snowing.
- Long Reach: Allows the Pokémon to use any move without making contact with the target.
- Liquid Voice: Turns the Pokémon's sound-based moves into Water-type moves.
- Surge Surfer: Doubles the Pokémon's Speed while Electric Terrain is active.
- Disguise: If the Pokémon is hit by an attack while in Disguised Form, it loses 1/8 of its maximum HP instead of taking damage and changes to Busted Form.
- Corrosion: Allows the Pokémon to poison or badly poison even Steel- or Poison-type Pokémon.
- Queenly Majesty: Prevents opponents from using high-priority moves against the Pokémon and its allies.
- Innards Out: If the Pokémon takes damage from a move and is knocked out, it deals the same amount of damage to the attacker.
- Receiver: Causes the Pokémon to acquire the Ability of an ally that has been knocked out.
- Electric Surge: Creates Electric Terrain for five turns when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Mirror Armor: Reflects stat-lowering effects directed at the Pokémon without affecting it.
- Stalwart: Ignores the effects of Abilities or moves that allow a Pokémon to draw attention to itself.
- Sand Spit: Summons a sandstorm for five turns when the Pokémon takes damage from a move.
- Ripen: Doubles the effects of Berries eaten by the Pokémon.
- Mimicry: Changes the Pokémon's type depending on the terrain currently active.
- Screen Cleaner: Removes Light Screen, Reflect, and Aurora Veil when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Wandering Spirit: Swaps the Abilities of the Pokémon and the target when the Pokémon is hit by a contact move.
- Hunger Switch: Switches the Pokémon between Full Belly Mode and Hangry Mode at the end of each turn.
- Quick Draw: Gives the Pokémon a 30% chance to act first when its move has the same priority as others.
- Unseen Fist: When the Pokémon attacks with a contact move, it can hit even protected targets and deals 1/4 of the original damage. All other effects remain unaffected by this Ability and activate as usual.
- Curious Medicine: Removes allies' stat changes when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Purifying Salt: Makes the Pokémon immune to status conditions and halves the damage it takes from Ghost-type moves.
- Zero to Hero: Changes the Pokémon into its Hero Form when it switches out.
- Electromorphosis: Gives the Pokémon the Charged status when it takes damage from a move.
- Opportunist: If an opponent raises its stats, the Pokémon raises its own stats in the same way.
- Cud Chew: If the Pokémon eats a Berry, it eats it again at the end of the next turn.
- Sharpness: Raises the power of the Pokémon's slicing moves by 50%.
- Supreme Overlord: When the Pokémon enters battle, the power of its moves rises by 10% for each party member that has been knocked out, up to a maximum of 50%.
- Toxic Debris: Sets Toxic Spikes on the opposing side when the Pokémon takes damage from a physical attack.
- Armor Tail: Prevents opponents from using high-priority moves against the Pokémon and its allies.
- Earth Eater: Makes the Pokémon immune to Ground-type moves and restores 1/4 of its maximum HP when it is hit by one.
- Hospitality: Restores 1/4 of an ally's maximum HP when the Pokémon enters battle.
- Supersweet Syrup: Lowers opposing Pokémon's Evasion by one stage when the Pokémon enters battle. It only activates once per battle.
- Piercing Drill: When the Pokémon attacks with a contact move, it can hit even protected targets and deals 1/4 of the original damage. All other effects remain unaffected by this Ability and activate as usual.
- Dragonize: Turns the Pokémon's Normal-type moves into Dragon-type moves and raises their power by 20%.
- Elevate: Makes the Pokémon float above the ground, rendering it immune to Ground-type moves and the effects of Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Sticky Web. It raises the Pokémon's highest stat by one stage when it knocks out a target with an attack.
- Mega Sol: Allows the Pokémon to use moves with the same results as if harsh sunlight were active, even when it is not the current weather.
- Fire Mane: Raises the power of the Pokémon's Fire-type moves by 50%.
- Spicy Spray: Burns the attacker if the Pokémon takes damage from a move.
Bear in mind that Pokémon Champions introduces several brand-new Abilities never before seen in the series. They make their debut in this game and are associated with certain Mega-Evolved Pokémon, including some of the final entries in the list, such as Piercing Drill, Dragonize, Mega Sol, and Spicy Spray. The remaining Abilities are familiar faces from earlier generations of the series and may already be well known to veteran Trainers.
