The Ranked Battles game mode in Pokémon Champions is, without a doubt, the main attraction of this entry in the series. As you would expect from a competitive mode like this, players can climb different global ranks and tiers each season, earning some pretty nice rewards along the way. In this entry of our guide, we will show you how many ranks there are, how to rank up and what rewards you can get.
In Pokémon Champions Ranked Battles, there are 5 different tiers where you can be placed internationally each season. Each tier also has four different ranks, which always go from Rank 4 to Rank 1, except for the highest tier.
Below, we show you the icons for each tier, their names, and the rewards you receive when reaching each tier or when the season ends:
| Tier | Promotion rewards | End-of-season rewards |
|---|---|---|
Poké Ball Tier |

|
Great Ball Tier |

Ultra Ball Tier |

Master Ball Tier |

It is worth noting that the final rewards for each season may vary depending on the season currently underway. We recommend checking the rules for each season directly in the game for more details.
It is also worth mentioning that one week after the start of each season, ranked battles open for Master Ball Tier Ranks 3 to 1, as well as for Champion Tier.
To move up through the ranked tiers in Pokémon Champions, you simply have to win battles against other players.
Be careful, though: it is important to mention that once you move up to a higher tier, you cannot drop back down to a lower one during that season. For example, if you move from Poké Ball Tier to Great Ball Tier, you cannot fall back to Poké Ball Tier again, no matter how many battles you lose in a row. The same applies to the other tiers. However, you can still drop ranks within the same tier.
When a season ends, all players receive a general ranking reset. In other words, when a new season begins, you start again from the lowest tier and can climb your way back up.
Also keep in mind that there are two separate and independent rankings: one for Single Battles and another for Double Battles. This means that if you earn points and move up ranks or tiers in one format, it will not affect your ranking in the other format, and vice versa.
Each format has its own tiers and ranks, so you will need to play both formats if you want to improve both rankings. The good news is that this also means you can earn twice as many rewards, so it is always a good idea to play both singles and doubles if you want to maximize your prizes.
