The secret to its success lies in combining the endlessly addictive mechanics of Pokémon with those of survival games such as Rust. The result is a compelling game already enjoyed by millions of players on PC and Xbox consoles—and also available through Game Pass—which has also sparked some controversy and raised questions about certain aspects of Pals, this world's equivalent of Pokémon.
Since Pals look so much like certain Pokémon and Palworld borrows some mechanics from Game Freak's series, many players wonder whether Pals can evolve in Palworld.
The answer is no, there are no evolutions in Palworld. In fact, it appears that there are no plans to add them in the future either. When you capture a Pal, it can level up, learn new skills and receive certain upgrades, but you cannot evolve it as you would a Pokémon.
What the game does offer is the ability to incubate eggs from which new Pals will hatch. At higher levels, you can also build a Breeding Farm, where two of your Pals can grow closer and reproduce to give you a new Pal—but there are no actual evolutions.
That said, some Pals look very similar to one another and may be related, possibly even belonging to the same "family". For example, Grizzbolt may have originated as a variety of Sparkit that gradually changed over the years until it became the gigantic Electric Pal it is today. They would therefore be "distant relatives", but not evolutions—something like humans and apes.
