In Palworld, taking proper care of your Pals is important at all times. These creatures can suffer injuries, become ill, and even be incapacitated, although fortunately, this is not the end. Players can revive incapacitated Pals and keep them safe by taking the proper precautions.
In this section of our guide, we will share the essential tips you need to keep your Pals healthy. Here, you will learn how to maintain their Sanity, how to prevent illnesses and other status effects, and how to revive any Pals that get knocked out in battle.
If one of the Pals in your party takes too much damage during a battle and loses all its HP, it will become Incapacitated. This essentially means that the Pal is out of action, and you will not be able to use it at your base or in your party. Fortunately, reviving it is fairly easy.
Once the Pal has been placed inside the Palbox, a 10-minute countdown will appear over its icon. This is how long you must wait for the Pal to recover. Once the countdown ends, you will be able to use it again.
This is the only way to revive an incapacitated Pal, as there are no items, foods, or medicines capable of bringing one back into action—at least in the original Early Access release of the game.
Naturally, Pals can also be injured in battle without being incapacitated. As with reviving Pals, an injured Pal that has lost HP can be placed inside a Palbox to recover its health. However, if the Pal is happy and comfortable and has a good Sanity level, it will gradually recover HP over time without needing to be placed inside the Palbox.
You should also be aware of the various ailments and status effects Pals can suffer from, including Colds, Sprains, Ulcers, and more. These conditions can be treated with the appropriate medicine. To make these items, you must build a Medieval Medicine Workbench at your base. This structure can be unlocked at level 12 in the Technology menu and requires the following resources:
At this workbench, you can initially craft medicine and other healing items to cure the status effects mentioned above. You can even make juices that temporarily increase your Pals' Work Speed at the base. When you want to give one of these items to a Pal, add the Pal to your party, open your inventory, and select the item to use it on the desired Pal.
In relation to the previous section, it is also important to understand your Pals' Sanity levels, represented in the game by the abbreviation "SAN". Every Pal has a Sanity meter that can decrease if, for example, it is uncomfortable or remains ill for too long. Aim at a Pal to check its current Sanity percentage. If its Sanity falls too low, the Pal may work more slowly or even stop working altogether.
To prevent your Pals from going hungry, build a Feed Box, whose recipe is unlocked at Technology level 4, and make sure to keep it stocked with food such as berries, meat, and other ingredients. Your Pals will then go and eat whenever they become hungry, helping them stay happy.
You can also build a Hot Spring at your base, allowing Pals to relax in the water and restore their Sanity. Their Sanity will also recover while they sleep at night. Whenever you are at your base, keep an eye on the information displayed on the right-hand side of the screen to see whether any Pal is having problems. Ideally, they should all display "In good condition", indicating that they are healthy and have a high Sanity level.
