Palworld is a game with online survival mechanics reminiscent of other titles such as Rust, DayZ, ARK and even the hugely popular Minecraft. All of these games feature PvP modes in which players can fight one another. A mode like this was therefore highly anticipated in Pocketpair's game and, thanks to the summer 2024 Sakurajima update, Palworld finally has its own PvP mode. Want to know how it works and how to take part in these battles? In this section of our guide, we'll tell you everything you need to know.
Palworld's PvP mode is called Arena mode and takes place inside a colosseum found at a specific location on the game's world map. In other words, you cannot access PvP from an option on the main menu—you have to enter it from within your game.
However, there is one essential requirement you must meet before you can enter the Arena: you need to be playing in a multiplayer game. If your world is not configured for multiplayer, you obviously won't be able to battle other real players, so make sure you're playing online first.
With that said, below we'll show you where to find Palworld's PvP Arena on the world map:
You'll find the Arena on a small island south of the desert biome, at coordinates 629, 14 in the northeastern part of the world map. To get there, you'll need a Pal that can serve as a flying mount, such as Selyne, Jetragon, Frostallion or Faleris, to name just a few.
The good news is that once you reach the entrance to the colosseum, you can activate a fast travel point, allowing you to return here much more quickly whenever you like. Simply approach the Arena entrance to enter, then wait for the game to match you with another opponent. It works much like entering a boss tower, although there is no countdown in this case.
Palworld's PvP Arena mode features 1v1 battles against another player on the same server. Both players can use a total of three Pals during these fights.
One of the Pals on your team will serve as your main partner during the battle, and you can ride it to activate its Partner Skill whenever it suits you. The other two Pals will fight on their own. You can also join the fight yourself using your weapons.
The objective of PvP battles is naturally to defeat your opponent, either by dealing enough damage to the rival player or by taking down all three of their Pals. The latter can sometimes be easier, but the choice is entirely up to you.
Needless to say, any materials or ammunition used during PvP battles are not actually consumed. Once the battle ends, your inventory is restored to exactly how it was when you entered the Arena, so you don't need to worry about wasting consumables.
Finally, remember that you can use any Pal in Arena mode. Have fun battling other players!
