Tecmo Koei Europe bringing over Sakura Wars
Sakura Wars: So Long My Love for the Wii has popped up on Amazon UK, to be published by Tecmo Koei Europe in March 2010. Sakura Wars is a strategy RPG with ground and air-based combat. The mechanised battle suits transform into jet fighters, you see. Oh, and it's also set in New York during 1927. Character interaction plays a huge role, your responses to the various characters can change the storyline and even affect the final outcome.
Owned by SEGA and Red Entertainment, this will be the first Sakura Wars game to ever leave Japan. The series began on the SEGA Saturn back in 1996 and went on to become a hugely successful franchise, spawning various novels, an anime series, a motion picture, and at one point there was even an entire store (Taisho Romando) in Tokyo dedicated to selling merchandise. The video games have spread across a wide range of systems over the years.
Sakura Wars: So Long My Love will be exclusive to the Wii in PAL regions. It was also available on the PlayStation 2 in Japan, and both versions are headed to America.
